PROVIDER POSITIONS
CHILD & FAMILY ARNP/PSYCHIATRIST – Medical Services:
Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for KMHS Child and Family patients. See patients individually and jointly with team members, and family members. Become an integral part of the treatment team using a full range of capabilities to assure adequate initial and ongoing assessment, to help team members to best use and expand their own skills in managing their patients and to provide a resource to team members for relevant aspects of psychiatry. Qualifications: ARNP or MD/DO license with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington with a specialty in child psychiatry.  Experience with mentally ill children preferred.  Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate with mentally ill consumers.  Must be able to work collaboratively with agency staff, community providers, and family members of consumers.

OUTPATIENT PSYCHIATRIST (32hrs/wk) – Medical Services:
Provide psychiatric services to KMHS patients with mental or emotional disturbances, substance abuse problems, and coincident medical problems. These services will be provided in the context of integrated multi-disciplinary care teams. Clinical duties may include psychiatric and addiction evaluations, differential diagnosis and complex decision-making, individualized treatment planning, psychiatric medical management, and medication assisted treatment for substance abuse disorders. Additional duties as part of the care team may include leadership, education, presentations, mentoring, and staff development. Qualifications: MD/DO: License to practice medicine or osteopathy in Washington. Successful completion of a residency in psychiatry. Board Certification preferred. ARNP: ARNP license with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington with a specialty in area of psychiatry appropriate to care team assignment (child and adolescent or adult). 

SUPERVISORY POSITIONS
INFORMATION SERVICES DIRECTOR - Information Services:
Provide leadership and direction to the IS Department.  Research, plan, develop, imple-ment, and maintain all computer, telecommunications and agency-wide information systems in a manner which will ensure that the informational and data processing needs of the agency and the Peninsula RSN are met. The IS Director is the agency’s HIPAA Security Officer, responsible for the ongoing manage-ment of information security policies, procedures, and technical systems in order to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all organizational healthcare information systems.Qualifications: BA in Computer Science or related field preferred. Two years supervisory experience in an IS environment. Four years experience in systems design or programming.  Previous experience in a managed mental health care setting and with a full EHR system preferred. Knowledge of WA State DBHR requirements, CoCentrix (ProFiler), and Dynamics GP preferred.  Knowledge of telephone systems desired.  Accounting background helpful.  Effective oral and written communication skills.  Excellent documentation skills. Knowledge of information systems analysis and design, current technology for hardware and software, telecommunications, computer programming, and networks. At least two years experience in the following subjects is desirable:  electronic health records, electronic financial and human resources systems, data base management, SQL operating systems, spreadsheets, Windows environments, and data communication tools. Ability to prioritize projects and work independently.  Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust.  Ability to direct activities of the department, assign projects and review work of other department personnel.  Ability to interact with user departments, management and personnel.  Capable of working productively in a continually changing environment where outside influences frequently change project priorities.  Ability to tolerate high stress and pressure of varying requirements.
Knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule and other government technology laws.  Ability to weigh business risks and enforce appropriate information security measures. Most duties are performed in an office environment utilizing a wide variety of computer related equipment and software products.  The incumbent may travel to the sites in the RSN in order to support the regional IS. Primary internal contacts include all agency computer users, supervisors, and management.  External contacts are the PRSN office and staff/management at the other three agencies in the PRSN.  Other external contacts include computer/telephone vendors, consultants, service representatives, and other mental health or medical facilities across the USA.

MENTAL HEALTH SHIFT SUPERVISOR (Day shift) – Youth Inpatient Unit:
Coordinate and monitor all shift activities. Make shift staffing and program assignments.  Implement resident-client treatment plans under the supervision of the Program Manager. Assume major responsibility for ensuring a safe and structured treatment milieu.  Serve as team leader/supervisor. Qualifications: Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or an equivalent combination of education (BA Degree) and experience; two years experience in relevant field; valid Washington Drivers License and reliable, insured transportation required.  Supervisory experience preferred.

OVERNIGHT SHIFT SUPERVISOR (32hrs/wk) – Adult Inpatient Unit:
Provide supervision and training for Psychiatric Aides while overseeing a range of administrative and clinical activities in support of running a safe and therapeutic milieu. Ensure Psychiatric Aides maintain appropriate training and licensure according to KMHS policy and associated WACs.  Work collaboratively with staff in carrying out client treatment plans and objectives from time of admission to discharge. Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in psychology, social work or a related field with two years experience providing direct service to persons with mental illness is preferred.  In lieu of a Master’s Degree, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree and significant, relevant clinical experience may be considered, or any combination of education, experience and demonstrated clinical competence providing the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.  Basic computer skills required.  Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Inpatient work experience, supervisory experience, teaching ability, and proficiency in MS Word preferred.

PROGRAM MANAGER – Youth Inpatient Unit:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Youth Inpatient Unit (YIU)  and ensure quality services are provided. Qualifications: Master’ degree in social, behavioral or nursing disciplines or current license as an RN in Washington. Minimum two years experience working with individuals with mental illness. Minimum of two years supervisory experience, preferably in inpatient milieu. Mental Health Professional qualified, meet qualifications for child mental health specialist. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrates strong leadership abilities in complex situations. Computer experience highly desirable.

SENIOR HR ANALYST – Human Resources:
The senior HR analyst contributes to the accomplishments of Human Resources practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity/standards, and goal attainment including ongoing development of a superior workforce in support of KMHS’s stated mission.  Assists with provider and on-call recruitment and credentialing, represents KMHS at job fairs, administers  the transitional/light duty program, volunteer and intern process, , assists with coaching, investigating and recommending solutions to human resource problems such as dispute resolution, harassment or legal issues.  May assist with development of human resource policies. Requires confidentiality of personnel records, reports, and matters sensitive to the Human Resources Department.  Provides supervision to on-call staff.Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills-The position requires specialized knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures associated with human resources management in public service.  Requires a working knowledge of common provisions of employee benefit plans. CLINICAL POSITIONS
ACCESS PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST (20hrs/wk) – Access:
The Peer Counselor has experience as a recipient of mental health services for severe and persistent mental illness and is willing to use and share his or her personal, practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its clients. 
Provides the team with expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by clients to lead a satisfying life. Responsible for advocating for client choice, self-determination, and decision-making in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. Provides consultation to clients, families, and team staff in the areas of community resources, intake and treatment planning, crisis intervention, and substance abuse services. Qualifications: High school diploma and has experience as a recipient of mental health services.  Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness preferred. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report. 

CARE COORDINATOR (BA Level) – South Kitsap Satellite Office:
Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating the clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients.  Provide education, consultation to families, and crisis intervention services to clients assigned to the team. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in psychology, social services, or a related field required; minimum of two years experience working with clients with mental illness required.  Prefer experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment.   Requires valid WA State Driver’s License and reliable, insured transportation.

Provide support and assistance to the Care Team staff and clients so as to ensure timely and targeted comprehensive care interventions and coordination.  Facilitate appropriate and timely preventative, specialty, and transitional health services to Care Team clients.  Ensure client health data is accurately tracked in the client health record. Qualifications: Medical Assistant - Certified with medical clinic and patient education.  Ability to work within interdisciplinary team setting on behalf of complex clients with extensive behavioral care needs.  Experience with EMR and data tracking and ability to read data reports. Experience with venipuncture and capillary blood withdrawal. Familiarity with outpatient medical clinic operations so as to facilitate the establishment of positive and productive relationships with medical practice staff throughout the community. Effective collaboration and communication skills.

CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY PROFESSIONALS (CDP) 2 positions available – Adult Outpatient Services:
Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating the clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients.  Provide integrated substance use disorder and mental health treatment for KMHS clients to include: assessment, collaborative treatment planning, individual, family, and group therapy and perform all duties necessary to comply with relevant Kitsap County Chemical Dependency Treatment Contracts and all other regulatory agencies. Qualifications: Current licensure as a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) in WA State preferred, a Bachelor’s Degree in a social services discipline; significant experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders; a valid WA State Driver License and reliable, insured transportation are required.  A Master’s Degree is preferred.

CHILD & FAMILY THERAPIST (33hrs/wk) – Child & Family Services, Community Support Team:
Provide therapy services for children and adolescents in collaboration with the parents or guardians caring for them. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work, counseling/psychology or related field required. Two years experience working with children and families preferred.  Child Mental Health Specialist and Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC) preferred. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable, insured transportation. 

HOUSING SPECIALIST (Temporary) – Clinical Housing:
Teach and reinforce independent living skills for persons with severe and persistent mental disorders.  To support each client in maintaining the highest possible level of independent functioning. This position requires daily driving to and from various housing sites across Kitsap county for meetings, client visitations, shopping and transporting clients by car or van. Qualifications: AA degree in human services related area or more than five years experience working with persons with chronic mental illness.  Must be able to attain Agency Affiliated Counselor registration with the State of Washington.  Business-rated vehicle insurance required. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.

LEAD SCHOOL BASED BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONIST – School Program:
Help design and implement a school based behavioral program.  Provide on-going supervision, behavioral and therapeutic support for children enrolled in the Evergreen Program at Mountain View Middle School.  Provide assistance in the implementation of the milieu program, including providing emotional support and remedial, individual, and group academic support to children. Participate as a milieu treatment team member. Qualifications:Master’s degree in counseling/psychology or related field required. Child Mental Health Specialist qualifications required or continued employment is contingent upon obtaining CMHS certification within 90 days of hire. Experience working with children within the structure of an intensive, milieu based program.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL – Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT):
To function as a member of the PACT multidisciplinary team while demonstrating the clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients with severe and persistent mental illness.  To provide education, consultation to families, and crisis intervention services to clients assigned to the team, with a minimum of 85% of all services delivered in the community via assertive outreach. Function as the team’s Co-Occurring Disorders (COD) Specialist. Qualifications: Master’s degree in psychology, social services or a related field required; Minimum of two years experience working with clients with chronic mental illness required.  Prefer experience in individual and group therapy, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment.  CDP preferred.  Must be Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor.  Requires valid WA State Driver’s License and reliable, insured transportation. 

MENTAL HEALTH REGIONAL CLIP COORDINATOR, CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL LIAISON AND INTAKE CLINICIAN – Access:
Serve as gatekeeper for Children’s Long Term Inpatient Care (CLIP) for Kitsap County and as a liaison between the County and the statewide CLIP committee. Coordinate a continuum of treatment services for seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families upon discharge from CLIP or community hospitals. Staff and facilitate the CLIP multi-disciplinary team and assistance to referents and providers regarding quality, collaboration, and efficiency. To participate in Youth Inpatient Unit Team meetings to identify children who may be entering CLIP and develop diversion plans for those who can be served in a less restrictive setting.  Participate in monthly team meetings for each client in a CLIP facility. Facilitate intake and situation-specific evaluation and referral services for clients in a community mental health setting. Provide services to Peninsula Regional Support Network (PRSN) consumers transitioning to and from other inpatient psychiatric facilities. Qualifications: Master’s degree in social sciences.  Two years relevant experience working with families and children. Preferred experience with in depth knowledge of local child-serving systems and organizations; outstanding communication abilities; collaboration and administrative skills; high degree of professional acumen; knowledge of family centered practice and individualized and tailored care principles; knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; ability to analyze and interpret findings, perform site reviews, prepare comprehensive reports and conduct public presentations.  Must be a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) or be able to obtain credential prior to start date.  A good knowledge of community resources for children is helpful.  Must have knowledge, skills and experience with computer programs. Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.

PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST – Wheaton Way Office:

PSYCHIATRIC AIDE (Overnight Shift) – Adult Inpatient Unit:
Provide on-going assistance to clients in the Adult Inpatient Unit while maintaining a safe and therapeutic work environment. Take appropriate measures for assisting clients in meeting their daily basic needs for health and safety.  Assist in meeting client treatment objectives as directed by the treatment team. Provide appropriate documentation as required by KMHS policies and procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience, ability to gain licensure as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (or other applicable counselor profession) in Washington State, valid Washington State Driver License and Food Handler card.  A bachelor’s degree in a counseling-related field is preferred.
Note: Gender (female or male as applicable) is a bona fide occupational qualification for the position of Psychiatric Aide at this time, under an opinion letter of the Executive Director of the Washington State Human Rights Commission.

NURSING REGULAR POSITIONS
CARE TEAM NURSE (32hrs/wk) – Wheaton Way Office:
The Care Team Nurse provides direct service to individual patients, monitors generalized health care needs of all patients on the team, and serves as a resource to other team members.  The Care Team Nurse is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments, assessing physical health needs, making appropriate referrals to community physicians, providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist Care Team Medical Provider, and providing a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services in coordination with other Care Team membersQualifications: Current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.  Two years RN experience preferred.  Previous experience working with the chronically mentally ill preferred. If required to drive for work one day a week or more, possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable, insured transportation.

NON-CLINICAL POSITION
CARE TEAM ASSISTANT – Wheaton Way Office:
Provide support for the operations of the Care Team including triaging calls and  helping respond to client requests, coordinating communication between the team, clients and their families, serving as a liaison with other departments and teams within KMHS, organizing and producing materials and reports to maximize efficient Team functioning. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.  Three years of general office experience.  Type at least 45 WPM with accuracy in word processing and transcription with good spelling and writing skills.  Experience or course work in medical/psychiatric terminology preferred.  Ability to work in stressful situations (i.e., clients in crisis, numerous telephone calls).  Strong communication skills required.  Strong organizational skills required to prioritize variety of work assignments.  Work independently and as a team member.  Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office environments.  Experience working in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred. Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation with business-rated insurance. Possess and maintain valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.

REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE – Accounting:
Assist consumers who are chronically mentally ill to understand and manage their finances to achieve the highest quality of independent living and self-dignity as is afforded to other individuals in the community. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.  AA Degree in either behavioral sciences or accounting preferred.  Extensive practical experience in working with a difficult client population or in accounting may be substituted for education.  Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision while coordinating activities with several departments.  Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.  10 key by touch. Working knowledge of Word and Excel. Familiar with personal budgeting and banking practices and must be able to effectively instruct others in these areas. Ability to work with people in a courteous and professional manner on the phone and in person.  Must be able to maintain composure in emergency situations. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.

Provide on-going supervision and treatment activities in the ICS and Home Based/Community Support Programs at KMHS.  Participate in program activities.  Participate as a treatment team member. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with twelve months relevant experience.  Ability to work a flexible/changeable work schedule.  Requires valid WA State Driver’s License and reliable, insured transportation  with an acceptable motor vehicle report. Applicants must be 21 years old. Must be a resident of WA State for 3 years.

ON-CALL DMHP (DESIGNATED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL) - $30/HR:
Ensure the continuity of emergency mental health services for residents and visitors of Kitsap County, as per the provision of state and PRSN mandated crisis services, including DMHP duties. Qualifications: Masters Degree in counseling or one of the social sciences and 2 or more years experience in direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbances gained under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional (WAC 388-865-0150). Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.

ON-CALL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR (PACT) - $12.96/HR:
Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for carrying out rehabilitation and support functions and assisting in treatment for individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.  Provide substance abuse services, education, consultation to families, and crisis intervention services to clients assigned to the team, with most services delivered in the community via assertive outreach. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social services or a related field preferred; AA degree with relevant experience may be considered; licensure as WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor or Social Worker. Experience working with clients with chronic mental illness in a community mental health setting preferred.Possess and maintain valid driver’s license & auto insurance with an and acceptable motor vehicle report.. 

ON-CALL MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL (ADULT INPATIENT UNIT) - $22.00/HR:
Provide inpatient therapeutic psychosocial care for voluntary and involuntary adults admitted to the ADULT INPATIENT UNIT.  Provide leadership in all aspects of the treatment process involving four fundamental responsibilities: psycho-therapeutics, representation of the unit in Kitsap County Superior Court and responsibility for an array of agency and unit-based work practices to ensure unit safety and effective practices. Qualifications: Master's degree in related field with two years appropriate clinical experience in providing services to individuals and families; experience in therapeutic residential treatment setting highly preferred.  Experience with the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and co-occurring substance use disorders is also preferred.  Proficiency with computer keyboarding and MS Word is required.

ON-CALL MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL (YOUTH INPATIENT UNIT) - $22.00/HR:
Coordinate the intake and treatment process for voluntary and involuntary admissions.  Work with the referring source on voluntary and involuntary admissions to assure timely and appropriate discharge.  Conduct individual, group, family, and milieu therapy for clients at the YIU. Qualifications: Master's degree in related field with two years appropriate clinical experience in providing services to youth and families; experience in therapeutic residential treatment setting highly preferred.  Substance Abuse Disorders treatment knowledge and experience necessary with certification preferred. Qualified as Child Mental Health Specialist.

ON-CALL PSYCHIATRIC AIDE (ADULT INPATIENT UNIT) - $12.96/HR:
Provide on-going assistance to clients in the Adult Inpatient Unit while maintaining a safe and therapeutic work environment.  Take appropriate measures for assisting clients in meeting their daily basic needs for health and safety.  Assist in meeting client treatment objectives as directed by the treatment team. Provide appropriate documentation as required by KMHS policies and procedures. Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience, ability to gain licensure as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (or other applicable counselor profession) in Washington State, valid Washington State Driver License and Food Handler card.  A bachelor’s degree in a counseling-related field is preferred. Note:Gender (female or male as applicable) is a bona fide occupational qualification for the position of Psychiatric Aide at this time, under an opinion letter of the Executive Director of the Washington State Human Rights Commission.

ON-CALL PSYCHIATRIC AIDE (YOUTH INPATIENT UNIT) - $12.96/HR:
Provide on-going supervision of clients in the Youth Inpatient Unit. Participate in all program activities and as milieu treatment team member.Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience or Psych Tech certification.  Ability to gain licensure as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (or other applicable counselor profession) in Washington State, valid Washington Driver License and Food Handler card.  Experience working with adolescents preferred.  Note: Gender (female or male as applicable) is a bona fide occupational qualification for the position of Mental Health Counselor (former title of position) at this time, under an opinion letter of the Executive Director of the Washington State Human Rights Commission.

ON-CALL REGISTERED NURSE - $31.00/HR:
Provide nursing care and medical supervision to clients and residents in all units of 24-Hours Services (Adult Inpatient Unit, Youth Inpatient Unit, and Residential Services). Participate as a member of the therapeutic treatment team. Qualifications: Registered Nurse in Washington State.  Two years RN experience preferred.  Two years experience in mental health preferred.  Experience in child and adolescent care preferred. Experience in psychiatric environment preferred.

ON-CALL RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR (RESIDENTIAL SERVICES) - $12.96/HR:
Provide clinical treatment and management for Residential Services clients in need of services due to symptoms of mental illness, and to their families as necessary and appropriate.  Coordinate and monitor all shift activities, including making staff and program assignments and implementing treatment plans per guidelines set by clinical management.  Assume major clinical responsibility for assigned clients. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience, Associate's degree in social sciences or related field and one year experience working with the chronically mentally ill population preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.  Residential experience preferred.  Ability to gain licensure as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (or other applicable counselor profession) in Washington State, valid Washington State Driver License required and Food Handler card.

Foster Parents Needed!
CONTRACTED TREATMENT FOSTER PARENTS – Reimbursement up to $1,680 per month:
Provide in–home care to children in the foster care program, and to assist the Intensive Children’s Services staff in meeting the treatment needs of the child. Foster Parents receive extensive introductory and continued training to ensure they are prepared for their challenging work.

Position Requirements:
·         Have the time and desire to make a difference in a child’s life
·         Be over the age of 21 and in good health to care for a child
·         Have sufficient income to support your family without the addition of foster care payments
·         Be able to complete an FBI and state background clearance
·         Be a homeowner or renter whose residence is deemed safe by the licensor

Volunteer Crisis Line Phone Worker Needed!
Crisis Workers provide information and referral, problem solving, crisis intervention, and a listening ear for people in the community who are experiencing situational distress.  We ask for a one-year commitment of one 4-hour shift per week and one overnight shift per month.  Quarterly trainings includes 36 hours of crisis intervention instruction, covering a wide range of topics including listening/empathy skills, mental health, domestic violence, self-harm, grief, suicide, and community resources.

Requirements:
·        Potential candidates must be 18 years of age or older (or within 6 months of turning 18 years of age to attend the training).
·        Potential candidates cannot be current clients of Kitsap Mental Health.
·        Potential candidates must fill out an application and meet with the supervisor for an informal “meet & greet” interview.
·        Potential candidates must complete training with the supervisor.
