Application Configuration Analyst – Telvent Gas SCADA #18938


Puget Sound Energy’s Energy Management Systems Department is looking for a Gas SCADA Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of business processes and flows to enable the analysis of control system requirements and the development of solutions for the Gas Control Center and supporting business functions. It is expected that the successful candidate will have the capability to perform configuration changes and/or prepare design specifications for the Telvent Gas SCADA Control System as well as have deep knowledge in at least one Telvent functional module and working knowledge in other modules. The successful candidate will be able to adapt quickly to an ever-changing and dynamic environment with frequent deadlines, as well as perform tasks that fall outside the standard scope of a software development cycle. Working well with a team is essential. This position periodically requires 24-hour on-call duty, as part of a team rotation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
* General IT experience: 3 or more years IT experience, including systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
* Telvent Gas Scada System experience: 2 years minimum systems experience in the modules appropriate for the job or other related functional area experience. Knowledge of Telvent Gas Scada System data dictionary and common Telvent Gas Scada System tables
* Demonstrated experience in at least one Telvent Gas Scada System (from list below) functional module, with knowledge of other modules and platform functionality, and can resolve moderately complex production issues:
* OASyS DNA – including 7.5 or later
* TiPS, Alarm Management System - including version 3.6 or later
* Sightline, Columbia version – or previous GMAS experience
* Experience with at least one full life cycle implementation of Telvent Gas Scada System and experience in supporting 7x24 real-time control system environments that manage natural gas distribution.
* Experience in information systems, operations, architecture, configuration, or other area relevant to successful Telvent Gas Scada System implementation, working in systems analysis and support or equivalent role.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills.
* Demonstrated experience in defining scope and requirements of new developments to meet changing business requirements.
* Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools.
* Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
* Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems. Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
* Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude
* Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
* Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical



ADDITIONAL TECHNOLOGY-SPECIFIC DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

* Familiarity with DOT PHMSA compliance requirements
* Experience with one or more network protocols: IP, UDP, TCP, or ICMP.
* Experience with one or more RTU protocols: Mercury, Modbus, or DNP3
* Experience with Windows Server 2008/20012
* Familiar with project and software development using ASAP or Agile methodologies
