Tacoma Power's Natural Resources Section is accepting applications from college or technical school students for a summer internship at the Cowlitz Visitor Center and Salmon Hatchery. Tacoma Power's rebuilt Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery includes an award-winning education center. Inside the Visitor Center, interactive displays show a salmon's journey through life, exploring the 5 "Hs" of a salmon's life cycle - hatchery, hydropower, harvest, habitat and high seas. The intern will educate visitors about the relationship between hydropower and fisheries on the Cowlitz River. The intern will greet visitors, educate visitors and answer questions, give tours of the hatchery, assist at Tacoma Power Adult and Juvenile Fish Collection Facilties, and conduct recreation surveys. The intern may work an irregular schedule. The position is located at the Cowlitz Visitor Center and Salmon Hatchery off Highway 12 in Salkum Washington.

 Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in a college, university or technical school studying an environmental science.
