Performs a variety of basic Human Resources related clerical duties associated with applicant screening, copying and filing, maintaining employment records, and basic functions relative to employee service. Ensures a quality experience for staff focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Represents the YMCA and self in a professional manner of safety and fun.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Promote a positive environment that fosters fun, safety and our YMCA values.
* Maintain good public relations with staff and always represent the best interests of the YMCA.
* Be responsible and fulfill your commitments through organization, time management, and coordination of workload. Notify a supervisor personally and in a timely manner if you are unable to meet your commitment. This includes illness and extenuating circumstances.
* Participate in staff meetings as required.
* Participate in trainings as required.
* Assume other responsibilities as mutually agreed upon with a supervisor.
Office Responsibilities:
* Provide administrative assistance including but not limited to the distribution, processing and maintenance of paperwork, records, reports, memos, correspondence, inventory and resupply.
* Maintain physical and/or electronic filing systems for all relevant information.
* Receive and direct communications with staff or members through incoming mail, email, telephone calls, or in person.
* Provide procedural and technical support to staff.
* Respond to all inquiries or refer as appropriate.
* Act as liaison between departments and branches as necessary. Support branch-wide communication standards and systems.
* Assist with special projects and events as assigned.
Safety:
* Dress according to YMCA dress code, having on the appropriate shirt and nametag.
* Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
Ambassador:
* Understand our YMCA’s mission, goals, objectives and programs to relay that information to inquiring families and participants.
* Understand the financial assistance given to members comes from our yearly “Strong Kids” campaign. Assist staff in helping to identify those individuals that may be interested in serving as a campaigner for and a donor to these efforts.
* Convey information on your programs and schedules and as appropriate refers members and participants to other programs.
* Understand and practice YMCA relevant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Demonstrated skills in customer service, organization, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
* Demonstrated professionalism in both attitude and appearance.
* Knowledge of YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties’ Procedures and Policies.
* YMCA required trainings including Child Abuse Prevention training (within 60 days) and Blood Borne Pathogen Training (within 90 days).
* The ability to demonstrate a friendly, courteous and professional manner while working with members, parents and staff and the ability to understand, articulate, and enforce YMCA policies and procedures in a positive way.
Physical Demands:
* Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions.
