The Psychiatric Nurse provides direct service to individual patients, monitors generalized health care needs of all patients on the team, and serves as a resource to other team members. The Psychiatric Nurse is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments, assessing physical health needs, making appropriate referrals to community physicians, providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist Care Team Medical Provider, and providing a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services in coordination with other Care Team members. Qualifications: Current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington. Two years RN experience preferred. Previous experience working with the chronically mentally ill preferred.
Provide nursing care and medical supervision to clients and residents in all units of 24-Hours Services (Adult Inpatient Unit, Youth Inpatient Unit, and Residential Services). Participate as a member of the therapeutic treatment team. Qualifications: Registered Nurse in Washington State. Two years RN experience preferred. Two years experience in mental health preferred. Experience in child and adolescent care preferred. Experience in psychiatric environment preferred.
PROVIDER POSITIONS
OUTPATIENT ARNP/PSYCHIATRIST (part-time) – Medical Services: (2 positions available)

SUPERVISORY POSITIONS
Plans, organizes, directs, and administers the business contractual affairs of Kitsap Mental Health Services. Manages and maximizes the value-added financial resources available to KMHS. Organizes and integrates administrative services that include budgeting, accounting, payroll and personnel transactions, purchasing, and contracts and risk management. Qualifications: Requires a Master’s degree in business or public administration and over six years of progressively responsible experience in financial management and oversight of business services. Experience in a non-profit agency, community mental health or health care setting is highly preferred. A CPA Certificate is desirable and may substitute for a graduate degree.
CHILD & FAMILY CLINICAL SUPERVISOR (OESD Team and Bremerton School Based Programs) – School Program:
The School Based Clinical Supervisor promotes and enhances services that strengthen home/ school/community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning. The School Based Clinical Supervisor significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student success and by implementing effective intervention strategies. Qualifications: Master’s degree in a mental health related or social service field or equivalent experience. Five years clinical experience working with children and families. Administrative and program development experience preferred. Two years supervisory experience preferred. Qualify as a Child Mental Health Specialist. License or certification eligibility preferred. Requires valid WA State Driver’s License in good standing, and reliable, insured transportation.
Plans, develops, implements and directs clinical services and programs that are highly coordinated with other KMHS services and with the community and KMHS partners and contractors, and that consistently strengthen partnerships within behavioral health and with primary care, long term care, and other health services providers. Ensures a well-integrated approach to services provision on behalf of KMHS clients and the community including access to intake and diagnostics, healthcare, occupational, and personal services. Qualifications: The position requires a Master’s degree in social work, mental health, psychology, or related human services related field and 8 years of progressive clinical experience, including 3 years in a leadership capacity with specific experience in program start-ups, needs assessment, crisis triage/crisis support, and program development. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Youth Inpatient Unit (YIU) and ensure quality services are provided. Qualifications: Master’ degree in social, behavioral or nursing disciplines or current license as an RN in Washington. Minimum two years experience working with individuals with mental illness. Minimum of two years supervisory experience, preferably in inpatient milieu. Mental Health Professional qualified, meet qualifications for child mental health specialist. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrates strong leadership abilities in complex situations. Computer experience highly desirable.
Provide supervision and training for Psychiatric Aides while overseeing a range of administrative and clinical activities in support of running a safe and therapeutic milieu. Ensure Psychiatric Aides maintain appropriate training and licensure according to KMHS policy and associated WACs. Work collaboratively with staff in carrying out client treatment plans and objectives from time of admission to discharge. Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in psychology, social work or a related field with two years experience providing direct service to persons with mental illness is preferred. In lieu of a Master’s Degree, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree and significant, relevant clinical experience may be considered, or any combination of education, experience and demonstrated clinical competence providing the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Basic computer skills required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Peer Counselor has experience as a recipient of mental health services for severe and persistent mental illness and is willing to use and share his or her personal, practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its clients. Provides the team with expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by clients to lead a satisfying life. Responsible for advocating for client choice, self-determination, and decision-making in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. Provides consultation to clients, families, and team staff in the areas of community resources, intake and treatment planning, crisis intervention, and substance abuse services. Qualifications: High school diploma and has experience as a recipient of mental health services. Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness preferred. The Access Screener/Program Assistant assists the public over the phone, and in person, with requests for mental health services by providing information, referrals, screening, crisis triage, coordination of intake paperwork, data entry into the electronic medical record, and guidance with the Medicaid Apple Health application and DSHS application and enrollment process. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in psychology, human services, or related field is required. Experience working with mental health consumers in a clinically oriented setting is preferred, and entering data into an electronic medical record, is preferred. Must be able to secure a Counselor Agency Affiliated Registration through the Washington State Department of Health.
Provide support and assistance to the Care Team staff and clients so as to ensure timely and targeted comprehensive care interventions and coordination. To facilitate appropriate and timely preventative, specialty, and transitional health services to Care Team clients. To ensure client health data is accurately tracked in the client health record. Qualifications: Medical Assistant - Certified with medical clinic and patient education. Ability to work within interdisciplinary team setting on behalf of complex clients with extensive behavioral care needs. Experience with EMR and data tracking and ability to read data reports. Experience with venipuncture and capillary blood withdrawal. Familiarity with outpatient medical clinic operations so as to facilitate the establishment of positive and productive relationships with medical practice staff throughout the community. Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating the clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients. Provide integrated substance use disorder and mental health treatment for KMHS clients to include: assessment, collaborative treatment planning, individual, family, and group therapy and perform all duties necessary to comply with relevant Kitsap County Chemical Dependency Treatment Contracts and all other regulatory agencies. Qualifications: Current licensure as a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) in WA State preferred, a Bachelor’s Degree in a social services discipline; significant experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders; Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report, and reliable personal transportation with business-rated insurance. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
The Court Behavioral Health Therapist will assist clients with mental health behavioral issues who are charged with non-violent criminal offenses. The Specialist is a part of a Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Therapeutic Courts (MHCD) tax-funded pilot project that will focus on Municipal Courts in Poulsbo and Port Orchard. Qualifications: Master’s degree in psychology, social services, or a related field required; Ph.D. candidate preferred. Minimum of two years’ experience working with clients with mental illness required. Prefer experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, drug court, or substance abuse treatment. MENTAL HEALTH ACCESS CLINICIAN (MA Level) – Community Services, Access: (2 positions available)
Provide mental health assessments and treatment for adults and children, in collaboration with their parents or guardians. Qualifications: Masters Degree in mental health related field with two years experience working with children and families or MSW. Licensure or eligibility for Licensure in WA State. Provide leadership in all aspects of the treatment process involving four fundamental responsibilities: psycho-therapeutics, representation of the unit in Kitsap County Superior Court and responsibility for an array of agency and unit-based work practices to ensure unit safety and effective practices. Qualifications: Master's degree in related field with two years appropriate clinical experience in providing services to individuals and families; experience in therapeutic residential treatment setting highly preferred. Experience with the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and co-occurring substance use disorders is also preferred. Proficiency with computer keyboarding and MS Word is required.

EMR CLINICAL HELP DESK REPRESENTATIVE & TRAINER (2 POSITIONS) – INFORMATION SERVICES: Internal Only Open Positions
Provide a central point of contact to clinical computer users for technical support and assistance, investigating and resolving problems with computer hardware, computer software and ProFiler® Electronic Medical Records (EMR) by web based ticketing system or telephone. Train users on proper use of the EMR system. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in psychology, social work or a related clinical discipline strongly preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience clearly relevant to the position may be considered. Demonstrated skills in using EMR and the ability to teach proper use and application of EMR are preferred, as is experience in the following software: ProFiler® (UNI/CARE Systems, Inc.), Word, Excel, Powerpoint and various web browsers.

Ensure the continuity of emergency mental health services for residents and visitors of Kitsap County, as per the provision of state and PRSN mandated crisis services, including DMHP duties. Qualifications:Masters Degree in counseling or one of the social sciences and 2 or more years experience in direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbances gained under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional (WAC 388-865-0150). Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.

Perform comprehensive psychiatric medical assessment and participate in the planning and development of a treatment approach which includes all aspects of the bio/psychosocial model, reviewing admits with the Charge Nurse and provide Admitting Orders for patients during midweek, and performing psychiatric evaluations and treatment on weekends. Psychiatric and medical decision-making for care of inpatients. Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. Licensed to practice medicine in Washington. Specialization in psychiatry. Board certified or eligible preferred.
Provide clinical treatment and management for Residential Services clients in need of services due to symptoms of mental illness, and to their families as necessary and appropriate. Coordinate and monitor all shift activities, including making staff and program assignments and implementing treatment plans per guidelines set by clinical management. Assume major clinical responsibility for assigned clients. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience, Associate's degree in social sciences or related field and one year experience working with the chronically mentally ill population preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Residential experience preferred. Ability to gain licensure as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (or other applicable counselor profession) in Washington State, valid Washington State Driver License required and Food Handler card.
Foster Parents Needed!
CONTRACTED TREATMENT FOSTER PARENTS – Reimbursement up to $1,680 per month:
Provide in–home care to children in the foster care program, and to assist the Intensive Children’s Services staff in meeting the treatment needs of the child. Foster Parents receive extensive introductory and continued training to ensure they are prepared for their challenging work.
Position Requirements:
· Have the time and desire to make a difference in a child’s life
· Be over the age of 21 and in good health to care for a child
· Have sufficient income to support your family without the addition of foster care payments
· Be able to complete an FBI and state background clearance
· Be a homeowner or renter whose residence is deemed safe by the licensor

Volunteer Crisis Line Phone Worker Needed!
Crisis Workers provide information and referral, problem solving, crisis intervention, and a listening ear for people in the community who are experiencing situational distress. We ask for a one-year commitment of one 4-hour shift per week and one overnight shift per month. Quarterly trainings includes 36 hours of crisis intervention instruction, covering a wide range of topics including listening/empathy skills, mental health, domestic violence, self-harm, grief, suicide, and community resources.
Requirements:
· Potential candidates must be 18 years of age or older (or within 6 months of turning 18 years of age to attend the training).
· Potential candidates cannot be current clients of Kitsap Mental Health.
· Potential candidates must fill out an application and meet with the supervisor for an informal “meet & greet” interview.
· Potential candidates must complete training with the supervisor.
