Description:
The Family Preservation System provides an integrated and flexible array of strengths-based therapeutic services and supports to families and children with complex therapeutic needs. Family Preservation Services are delivered primarily in the client’s home or community and are designed to reinforce the strengths of the family to prevent the out-of-home placement of a child or prepare for the return home of a child from out-of-home care. Services focus on empowering the family to effectively use their strengths and abilities to address their needs and challenges with the primary goals of supporting them to become self-sufficient and to strengthen their relationships with community and natural supports that can sustain their long term success.




Position

Description:
This position provides leadership and oversight to a clinical team delivering creative and uniquely individualized intensive services to children and their families. This position requires a vibrant and dynamic team leader that is able to motivate and support a successful clinical team. Duties of this position include hiring and training, mentoring and motivating, clinical consultation, monitoring for safety, participating in leadership decisions, ensuring complete and accurate documentation, completing performance reviews, providing back-up coverage for staff, and working with and promoting positive relationships with community partners and natural supports.







Essential

Functions:
* Provides clinical supervision, clinical training, professional development and field supervision for a team of clinical staff that includes: Therapists, Care Coordinators and Family Support Specialists. * Be available for clinical consultation on a 24-hour/7-day-a-week basis, carrying a working cell phone in order to be accessible for team members. * Monitor safety and risk issues taking timely and appropriate action to prevent incidents. * Provide clinical orientation and training to newly hired staff, both in the facility and in the field. * Ensure that the clinical file and documentation are complete and accurately reflects the work done by assigned staff. * Conduct staff evaluations, completing all necessary paperwork and be responsible for training plans, corrective actions when needed, and skill development goals. * Assists all staff in meeting productivity and documentation standards using collaborative problem solving strategies to improve processes and performance, ensuring complete and accurate documentation for all consumers served. * Provide back-up coverage for Therapists and Care Coordinators when necessary for staff vacancies, illnesses or vacations. * Communicates the mission and goals of CCS Family Preservation to a clinical team, supporting and focusing their team toward innovative and creative contributions to achieving those goals. * Provide fiscal oversight for staff, monitoring concrete costs, hourly staff time (including tracking of overtime), and other expenditures on a monthly basis for all interventions served by team, taking appropriate action when needed.

* Review and approve purchase orders and special checks as requested by Therapists/Care Coordinators on team. * Works with funders, community partners, mental health consumers and their families using a non-judgmental approach that is responsive to their needs and concerns. * Work with Therapists/Care Coordinators to establish and maintain Child and Family Teams for consumers and their families; the supervisor shall facilitate meetings as needed. * Coordinate and collaborate with Children’s Administration social workers and other providers as needed; attend meetings including phone consultations. * Teach and provide advocacy work with schools, courts, mental health systems, and other social service agencies as needed, all while maintaining standards of confidentiality. * Along with the other management staff, ensure consumer satisfaction and participate in the grievance process and resolution. * Provide clinical staff support and be available for emergency in-home assessments or be responsible to delegate such duties.













Job

Requirements:
* Master’s or MSW degree in social work, psychology, behavioral sciences or related field. * Must have two (2) years’ clinical experience working with children and families. * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and provide current auto registration. * Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy (required to provide current driving abstract) * Strength-based, family-oriented and solution-focused perspective. * Washington State Counselor registration or eligible. * Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment. * Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services. * Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations. Preferred Qualifications: * Meets qualifications as a Child Mental Health Specialist per WAC 388-865. * One year supervisory experience. * Working knowledge of Wraparound philosophies and approaches, with demonstrated technical ability in this area. * Licensed mental health counselor (WA State). Must be a licensed mental health therapist.
