DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Children’s Administration (CA), is seeking an experienced, outgoing Secretary Senior to join our team. This full-time position is located at the Children’s Administration in Yakima.
This vacancy is located at our Yakima Office, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (Saturday and Sunday off).

DUTIES:
Some of the duties
The Secretary Senior in this office is the primary point of contact for directing callers, and assisting customers at the front counter. This person will perform detailed secretarial duties with minimal supervision; provide secretarial services and assistance to relieve day-to-day secretarial duties from supervisor and/or staff member’s own work; and maintain filing systems, data bases, tracking logs, and computer programs.
Working as a Secretary Senior, this person provides reception duties; screen calls and visitors; and works collaboratively with a team to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines. This person will also provide internal and external customer services to a diverse population; maintain state vehicle logs and ensure routine maintenance is completed; monitor new requests, and obtain birth certificates, social security cards, and social security verifications; and make travel accommodations for Region 1 clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Who should apply
People who have graduated from high school or equivalent; and have two years of increasingly responsible office experience requiring keyboarding or typing.

Can type 50 words per minute
Can operate office equipment (fax machine, copy machine, multi-line switchboard)
Is able to communicate with a diverse group of people with sensitivity and professionalism
Can communicate effectively and respectfully with clients, co-workers, and supervisor (both verbally and in writing) Will maintain client confidentiality
NOTE: Proof of education will be required at the time of the interview
