The Psychiatric Nurse provides direct service to individual patients, monitors generalized health care needs of all patients on the team, and serves as a resource to other team members.  The Psychiatric Nurse is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments, assessing physical health needs, making appropriate referrals to community physicians, providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist Care Team Medical Provider, and providing a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services in coordination with other Care Team members. Qualifications: Current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.  Two years RN experience preferred.  Previous experience working with the chronically mentally ill or experience with child and adolescent psychiatry preferred.
Provide nursing care and medical supervision to clients and residents in all units of 24-Hours Services (Adult Inpatient Unit, Youth Inpatient Unit, and Residential Services). Participate as a member of the therapeutic treatment team. Qualifications: Registered Nurse in Washington State.  Two years RN experience preferred.  Two years experience in mental health preferred.  Experience in child and adolescent care preferred. Experience in psychiatric environment preferred.

PROVIDER POSITIONS
Provide psychiatric services to KMHS patients with mental or emotional disturbances, substance abuse problems, and coincident medical problems. These services will be provided in the context of integrated multi-disciplinary care teams. Clinical duties may include psychiatric and addiction evaluations, differential diagnosis and complex decision-making, individualized treatment planning, psychiatric medical management, and medication assisted treatment for substance abuse disorders. Additional duties as part of the care team may include leadership, education, presentations, mentoring, and staff development. Qualifications: MD/DO: License to practice medicine or osteopathy in Washington. Successful completion of a residency in psychiatry. Board Certification preferred. ARNP: ARNP license with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington with a specialty in area of psychiatry appropriate to care team assignment (child and adolescent or adult). 
SUPERVISORY POSITIONS
Plans, organizes, directs, and administers the business contractual affairs of Kitsap Mental Health Services.  Manages and maximizes the value-added financial resources available to KMHS.  Organizes and integrates administrative services that include budgeting, accounting, payroll and personnel transactions, purchasing, and contracts and risk management. Qualifications: Requires a Master’s degree in business or public administration and over six years of progressively responsible experience in financial management and oversight of business services.  Experience in a non-profit agency, community mental health or health care setting is highly preferred. A CPA Certificate is desirable and may substitute for a graduate degree.
Plans, develops, implements and directs clinical services and programs that are highly coordinated with other KMHS services and with the community and KMHS partners and contractors, and that consistently strengthen partnerships within behavioral health and with primary care, long term care, and other health services providers.  Ensures a well-integrated approach to services provision on behalf of KMHS clients and the community including access to intake and diagnostics, healthcare, occupational, and personal services. Qualifications: The position requires a Master’s degree in social work, mental health, psychology, or related human services related field and 8 years of progressive clinical experience, including 3 years in a leadership capacity with specific experience in program start-ups, needs assessment, crisis triage/crisis support, and program development. Preferred Chemical Dependency Professional license or similar experience and training. Licensed Mental Health Professional. Prefer CDP license. Must possess and maintain valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report, and reliable personal transportation with business-rated insurance.

CLINICAL POSITIONS
Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating the clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients.  Provide integrated substance use disorder and mental health treatment for KMHS clients to include: assessment, collaborative treatment planning, individual, family, and group therapy and perform all duties necessary to comply with relevant Kitsap County Chemical Dependency Treatment Contracts and all other regulatory agencies. Qualifications: Current licensure as a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) in WA State preferred, a Bachelor’s Degree in a social services discipline; significant experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders; Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report, and reliable personal transportation with business-rated insurance. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
The Court Behavioral Health Therapist will assist clients with mental health behavioral issues who are charged with non-violent criminal offenses.  The Specialist is a part of a Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Therapeutic Courts (MHCD) tax-funded pilot project that will focus on Municipal Courts in Poulsbo and Port Orchard.  Qualifications:  Master’s degree in psychology, social services, or a related field required.  Minimum of two years’ experience working with clients with mental illness required.  Prefer experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, drug court, or substance abuse treatment. Must possess and maintain valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report, and reliable personal transportation with business-rated insurance.
Provide therapy and care coordination services for children and adolescents in who are part of the Individualized Treatment Court or Youth Drug Court in collaboration with Kitsap County Juvenile and Family Court Services. Qualifications: Master’s degree in counseling/psychology or related field required. Two years experience working with children and families preferred.  Child Mental Health Specialist and certification preferred.  Prefer Chemical Dependency Professional certification or experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, or substance abuse treatment.  Requires valid WA State Driver’s License in good standing, and reliable, insured transportation. 
Provide services to Peninsula Regional Support Network (PRSN) consumers transitioning to and from Western State Hospital and other inpatient psychiatric facilities. Facilitate intake and situation-specific evaluation and referral services for clients in a community mental health setting. Qualifications:Master’s degree in social sciences with two years relevant clinical experience. Preferred experience with in depth knowledge of inpatient psych case management; outstanding communication abilities; collaboration and administrative skills; high degree of professional acumen; knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; ability to analyze and interpret findings, perform site reviews, prepare comprehensive reports and conduct public presentations.  A good knowledge of community resources is helpful.  Must have knowledge, skills and experience with computer programs. Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.  Ability to travel 30% of the time.
Provide mental health assessments and treatment for adults and children, in collaboration with their parents or guardians. Qualifications: Masters Degree in mental health related field with two years experience working with children and families or MSW.  Licensure or eligibility for Licensure in WA State. Must be Child Mental Health Specialist or willing to work toward obtaining credential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data entry for maintenance of electronic medical record. Proficiency in Profiler system preferred.  Must have reliable transportation.

Fill in for Mental Health Professional/Specialist scheduled and unscheduled leave. Provide inpatient therapeutic psychosocial care for voluntary and involuntary adults admitted to the YOUTH OR ADULT INPATIENT UNITS.  Provide leadership in all aspects of the treatment process involving four fundamental responsibilities: psycho-therapeutics, representation of the unit in Kitsap County Superior Court and responsibility for an array of agency and unit-based work practices to ensure unit safety and effective practices. Qualifications: Master's degree in related field with two years appropriate clinical experience in providing services to individuals and families; experience in therapeutic residential treatment setting highly preferred.  Experience with the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and co-occurring substance use disorders is also preferred.  Proficiency with computer keyboarding and MS Word is required.

The Peer Counselor has experience as a recipient of mental health services for severe and persistent mental illness and is willing to use and share his or her personal, practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its clients. Qualifications: High school diploma and has experience as a recipient of mental health services.  Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness preferred. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable, insured transportation. 
Provide on-going assistance to clients in the Adult Inpatient Unit while maintaining a safe and therapeutic work environment. Take appropriate measures for assisting clients in meeting their daily basic needs for health and safety.  Assist in meeting client treatment objectives as directed by the treatment team. Provide appropriate documentation as required by KMHS policies and procedures.Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience, ability to gain licensure as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (or other applicable counselor profession) in Washington State, valid Washington State Driver License and Food Handler card.  A bachelor’s degree in a counseling-related field is preferred. Valid Washington State Drivers License required.
NURSING REGULAR POSITION

If required to drive for work one day a week or more, possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable, insured transportation.
NON-CLINICAL POSITIONS
Provide support for the operations of the Care Team including triaging calls and  helping respond to client requests, coordinating communication between the team, clients and their families, serving as a liaison with other departments and teams within KMHS, organizing and producing materials and reports to maximize efficient Team functioning. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.  Three years of general office experience.  Type at least 45 WPM with accuracy in word processing and transcription with good spelling and writing skills.  Experience or course work in medical/psychiatric terminology preferred.  Ability to work in stressful situations (i.e., clients in crisis, numerous telephone calls).  Strong communication skills required.  Strong organizational skills required to prioritize variety of work assignments.  Work independently and as a team member.  Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office environments.  Experience working in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred.
INPATIENT RECEPTIONIST – Support Services:  Internal Only Open Position
Help facilitate smooth working conditions for the inpatient clinical and medical staff.  To provide clerical support, screen and direct phone calls and to welcome and direct visitors appropriately.Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.  One year related receptionist experience using multi-line phone, two years preferred.  Ability to work with the public on the phone and in person.  Proficiency in handling busy phones including the ability to work with people and to maintain composure in emergency situations.  Transcription skills and ability to type 40 words per minute. Good communication skills.  Ability to manage time well and work independently.  Accuracy in handling money, bookkeeping experience helpful.  General office skills and effective organizational skills.
Assist the Program Manager and Residential Services team in providing a structured environment for mentally ill adults.  To provide coordination, clinical, food services, and clerical/bookkeeping services to the program.   Facilitate the flow of information between Residential Services and other programs.Qualifications: Associates Degree in psychology or equivalent field.  Must have access to reliable transportation and have a valid Washington State driver’s license.  One-year reception, medical records and bookkeeping experience.  Type 50 wpm accurately with word processing skills.  Excellent organization and communication skills.  Ability to work independently and handle emergencies.  One-year experience working directly with the chronically mentally ill desirable.
Facilitate the work of the agency by ensuring that telephone calls are answered courteously and are routed correctly and quickly.  To greet, inform, and direct visitors.  To provide organizational and clerical support to the Child and Family Service Department. To support clinical staff in providing continuity of care to consumers by ensuring that EMR/charts are available when needed, that they are complete and that they adhere to federal, state, county and agency regulations. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.  A minimum of two years of office experience and one year of multi-line phone systems experience. The ability to work with people courteously and professionally in person and on the phone.   Be accurate, detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks with excellent time management skills. Knowledge and experience in computer data entry and with MS Word and Excel. Must be able to maintain composure in emergency situations.  Must be able to interpret written procedures, accept direction from peers and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.  Knowledge of medical terminology helpful. ON-CALL POSITIONS
Provide on-going supervision and treatment activities in the ICS and Home Based/Community Support Programs at KMHS.  Participate in program activities.  Participate as a treatment team member.Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with twelve months relevant experience.  Ability to work a flexible/changeable work schedule.  Requires valid WA State Driver’s License and reliable, insured transportation  with an acceptable motor vehicle report. Applicants must be 21 years old. Must be a resident of WA State for 3 years.
Ensure the continuity of emergency mental health services for residents and visitors of Kitsap County, as per the provision of state and PRSN mandated crisis services, including DMHP duties. Qualifications:Masters Degree in counseling or one of the social sciences and 2 or more years experience in direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbances gained under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional (WAC 388-865-0150). Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.
Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for carrying out rehabilitation and support functions and assisting in treatment for individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.  Provide substance abuse services, education, consultation to families, and crisis intervention services to clients assigned to the team, with most services delivered in the community via assertive outreach. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social services or a related field preferred; AA degree with relevant experience may be considered; licensure as WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor or Social Worker. Experience working with clients with chronic mental illness in a community mental health setting preferred. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license & auto insurance with an and acceptable motor vehicle report..

Psychiatric and medical decision-making for care of inpatients. Qualifications:   Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.  Licensed to practice medicine in Washington.  Specialization in psychiatry.  Board certified or eligible preferred.

Foster Parents Needed!
CONTRACTED TREATMENT FOSTER PARENTS – Reimbursement up to $1,680 per month:
Provide in–home care to children in the foster care program, and to assist the Intensive Children’s Services staff in meeting the treatment needs of the child. Foster Parents receive extensive introductory and continued training to ensure they are prepared for their challenging work.

Position Requirements:

Volunteer Crisis Line Phone Worker Needed!
Crisis Workers provide information and referral, problem solving, crisis intervention, and a listening ear for people in the community who are experiencing situational distress.  We ask for a one-year commitment of one 4-hour shift per week and one overnight shift per month.  Quarterly trainings includes 36 hours of crisis intervention instruction, covering a wide range of topics including listening/empathy skills, mental health, domestic violence, self-harm, grief, suicide, and community resources.

Requirements:
·        Potential candidates must be 18 years of age or older (or within 6 months of turning 18 years of age to attend the training).
·        Potential candidates cannot be current clients of Kitsap Mental Health.
·        Potential candidates must fill out an application and meet with the supervisor for an informal “meet & greet” interview.
·        Potential candidates must complete training with the supervisor.
