The Tahoma Family Center, housed in the renovated St. Leo High School Building in the heart of Tacoma's Hilltop Neighborhood, is the hub for more than 25 different programs. Position Description:

The Financial Analyst/Grant Accountant position assists in the preparation, analysis, and distribution of financial statements. Responsibilities include follow-up to inquiries made regarding issued financial statements, as well as special projects assigned by management. In addition, this position is responsible for reviewing grants and contracts that have been awarded to programs, perform audits and produce budget and expense analysis reports.

Essential Functions:
Fiscal Responsibilities * Perform detailed financial statement analyses, including discussions on various issues. * Perform the month-end closing and distribution of monthly financial statements. * Prepare governmental billing. * Assist Financial Services Supervisor with audit related issues and projects. * Serve as liaison to location managers, assisting them with accounting related service issues. . * Follow all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. * Assist in fiscal management with Family Preservation Director of Business Operations. Contract Administration * Assist Accounting Director in developing and implementing financial strategies to improve and maintain program fiscal responsibility, including break-even analysis. * Maintain contract-billing compliance and trouble-shoot monthly billing issues and contract changes. * Ensure that timely deadlines are met for payment cycles and data for contract reimbursement. * Develop and implement system reporting for contract and fiscal compliance. * Provide necessary information to Program Managers to aid in the development, negotiation and execution of all contracts and agreements. * Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of contract terms to facilitate and monitor revenue collection and recording. Design and implement accounting procedures to meet contract terms and conditions. * Develop and implement sound internal controls to ensure that the Family Centers are in compliance with all government funded contracts. * Assist in developing information systems to provide timely financial analysis to program managers. * Practical knowledge of OMB: A-110, A-122, & A-133 circulars. * Performs other duties as assigned.

Audit * Maintain reporting system for contract and fiscal compliance. * Prepare SEFA (Schedule of Federal Awards) for annual audit. * Work with the auditors on information needed throughout the audit period. * Work with funders during monitorings and audits of grants and contracts and provide fiscal information needed for the scheduled monitoring’s. Systems * Maintain SQL Server, including daily backup of critical databases. * System Support, e.g. Payroll & billing databases, Provider One & SAM. * Automation of payroll and non-payroll postings using Access Databases into MAS200. * Maintain Foster Care Licensing database and FHN & HAS timekeeping databases. * Oversee and troubleshoot electronic claims billings through PsychConsult. * Period opening and closing in PsychConsult. * Assist in MAS200 set-up (e.g. cost center, accounts, custom reports, etc.) Skills and Abilities Required: * Must possess analytical skills for the preparation of financial reports. * Interpersonal communication skills. * Good writing ability and strong computer skills. * Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently. * Must be detail oriented. * Show leadership skills and work independently. Computer Equipment and Software Requirements: * Accounting software, MAS 200, and Windows based spreadsheets/word processing (Excel, Access, Word), ability to use various company software packages

Job Requirements:



* Master’s degree in Finance plus 3 years of audit/or related corporate experience. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Experience with financial software, preferably MAS 90. * Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment. * Must possess knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to CFDA contracts * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services * Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork * Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience in non-profit accounting.
