Urban Leaders in Training - AmeriCorps (Tacoma, WA)

Urban Leaders in Training (ULT) is the Northwest Leadership Foundations AmeriCorps team consisting of young adults who commit a year of their lives to serve the city of Tacoma. The initiative identifies and develops teams of diverse emerging leaders to serve marginalized individuals and communities throughout the city. We offer intensive leadership development training and service opportunities that meet critical needs of underserved groups to develop our participants into urban leaders, ready to meet the demands of our urban world.

Urban Leaders are place in service positions with local faith-based/community-based organization, churches and programs working directly alongside vulnerable populations and those who have been marginalized throughout the city. Throughout the 10.5 month AmeriCorps service experience, Urban Leaders will:
            *Address critical issues such as youth development, education, urban development, the arts and the environment
            *Earn a month stipend
            *Receive health care, student loan deferment, and a  post-service education award of $5,5645.
