This position will report to the IT Manager for Seattle City Light, IT Services Division in the Power Systems Automation unit. The Power System Automation team is responsible for providing highly available computer systems support for energy market and power grid operations to control generation, interchange, transmission and distribution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the information technology analysis, software development and support with the following objectives:
• Develop and support software and interfaces with object oriented design, development environments, data query and database products that include .Net, Java, Oracle and others.
• Software development life cycle (SDLC) technology including project management and change management.
• Partner and interact daily with user community, infrastructure team, peer developers, vendors and managers to support the application operations as well as provide system enhancements that automate and streamline business process.
• Share a team rotation for on-call support during non-business hours.
• Provide knowledge sharing and transfer to peer IT support and business users

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience: Experienced information technology professionals as well as recent college graduates looking to build a career in the energy industry.
1. .NET or Java technologies, Oracle, Excel VBA, MS Office, Visio and Project products to facilitate excellent communication (oral and written) to deliver good customer service by way of, team or individual assignments.
2. A motivated self-starter that is able to work independently and in teams on tasks and projects with limited supervision.
3. Possess strong problem solving skills and customer service attitude
4. A team player with excellent communications (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
