Residential Care Services Division is looking for someone who is innovative, culturally competent with leadership skills to fill their Quality Assurance Nurse Manager position in Lacey, WA.

DUTIES:
Our Quality Assurance Nurse Manager oversees and supervises the Quality Assurance (QA)
Unit in RCS which consists of four Social & Health Program Consultant- 4s and a Management
Analyst- 4. This unit serves as the primary technical quality control for the implementation of consistent inspection, survey, and complaint investigation practices which meet federal and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for analyzing and assessing policies and processes that drive regulatory requirements within licensed and certified long term care settings. You will also be responsible for determining methods and audit processes that ensure survey and complaint protocols are followed throughout the division, and there is an effective system in place to audit and institute performance improvement plans when standards are not met. The Quality Assurance Nurse Manager assures that the unit establishes both quantitative and qualitative approaches to gathering and generating measurements and indicators to determine areas of progress, and deficiency within RCS standards of practice. As the subject matter expert in quality assurance and quality control measures, you will serve as a consultant and advisor to the RCS management team to include the Director, Assistant Director, Office Chiefs, and District Administrators related to compliance with performance expectations, and consistent application of standards of practice across the division. The unit’s scope of work is statewide, and directly impacts 16 RCS field units and approximately 3500 licensed and certified long term care settings. This is a key position in ensuring that the Department meets, in the most efficient and effective manner, state and federal performance standards.
As the Quality Assurance Nurse Manager you will ensure that the Department delivers services that meet federal and state performance standards for funding purposes and meets the mission related to promoting and protecting the rights, security and well-being of individuals living in licensed or certified residential settings. You will have statewide responsibility for planning, managing and supervising complex accountability, oversight initiatives and methods of internal review related to identifying quality improvement processes for RCS. Using advance level expertise you will develop corrective measures and action plants to improve HQ and field staff’s consistency and proficiency in licensing, survey and complaint activities. The Quality Assurance Nurse Manager coordinates closely with the RCS management team (Division
Director, Assistant Director and Office Chiefs) and other RCS staff including, the training staff, the field, and other review, oversight and accountability staff. Possessing specialized knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience, you will provide consultation and coordination of quality management strategies, training resources, and project outcomes/information with internal and external customers.

We’d like someone with a solid background in professionalism, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication and recognizes that the long-term care resident/client is the primary customer of this organization and promotes, builds and improves processes focused on improving resident/client satisfaction with the services offered by the programs licensed and/or certified by the organization.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in nursing and a minimum of three years’ experience in the field of long-term care services for vulnerable adults but will consider a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a minimum of five years’ experience in the field of long-term care services for vulnerable adults. The work experience required is work done after obtaining the degree. A Registered QIS Surveyor and Certified QIS Trainer is preferred.
