Role Overview Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Scientist to, under limited supervision, provide test and inspection data to environmental, industrial hygiene, engineering, field, and laboratory projects and provide work direction to other technician staff. Job Location This position can be located in our Bothell or Tacoma, WA office.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct tests and investigations in the field to obtain data for use by environmental, industrial hygiene, engineering, and scientific personnel in determining engineering,environmental, or physical properties of soil, building and construction materials, air, and stormwater;
* Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine chemical properties of materials, water, soil and air;
* Perform field tests according to prescribed procedures, processes, and standards;
* Collect air, water or soil samples, prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports;
* Use specialized equipment and apparatus to prepare analyses, reports, and/or technical drawings;
* Maintain results logs and effectively communicate methods and observation made in the field;
* Enter data and use analytical and design software applications;
* Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment;
* Will require some lifting and carrying; and
* Field assignments will require travel and/or work to be performed on site under a variety of environmental and climatic conditions for extended periods of time.

Role Requirements
* Bachelors of Science degree required;
* Some experience in a laboratory, field, or technical design environment preferred;
* HAZWOPER Training;
* AHERA Inspector, Designer, Management Planner Training;
* OSHA 10 Safety Training (preferred);
* CESCL training;
* Knowledge and understanding of subject matter and project focus;
* Understanding of applicable scientific methods and technical methodologies;
* Ability to use test equipment in an effective and safe manner;
* Ability to understand procedural manuals and execute work orders;
* Ability to write and prepare reports and documentation;
* Ability to locate yourself in the field using a map;
* Attention to detail;
* Ability to work independently; and
* Ability to follow directions.
