SALARY: $57,798 to $77,304 Annually
LOCATION: Tukwila, Washington

The Position The finance team at KCHA consists of 20+ dedicated professionals spanning the disciplines of accounting, treasury, budgeting, analysis, reporting, procurement and resource conservation. The Sr. Financial Analyst plays a vital role by providing outstanding customer service to all departments at the Authority. Key contributions of the Sr. Financial Analyst will include:

  • Participation in all aspects of the annual KCHA operating budget and lead responsibility for the preparation of the 5-year capital budget 
  • Forging positive relationships with department directors and key budget staff; performing budget vs. actual analysis and communicating results with staff 
  • Managing KCHA’s sophisticated Excel-based budgeting model and making continual improvements 
  • Leading complex financial analysis projects in areas such as improving current operations and analyzing the financial impact of proposed policy changes 
  • Accurate fulfillment of various accounting duties as assigned  

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field plus at least three years related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Significant budgeting experience in a medium-sized organization
  • Outstanding Excel skills including practical application of pivot tables and advanced functions, managing and querying large amounts of data, creation of meaningful charts and graphs, managing large multi-tabbed workbooks
  • Proven ability to conduct detailed analyses and to prepare and present accurate and concise reports
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork, time management and meeting deadlines
