Description:

Foster Grandparents provide children with mentoring, support and wisdom. Their main focus is to help at-risk children succeed in life. The Foster Grandparents serve as volunteers in stations such as schools, child care facilities, boys’ and girls’ clubs, correctional institutions, community centers and Head Start programs. They are 55 years of age and over, volunteer an average of 20-30 hours a week, have a limited income and love helping children.
Position
Description:

Coordinate and facilitate the day to day operation of the Foster Grandparents Program (FGP) in Clark/Pacific County. Network with FGP stations, various local agencies, community, groups, businesses and individuals to execute the program effectively. Recruit, train, and place volunteers. Work cooperatively with other community resources to promote the program and with stations to provide support and supervision to volunteers.
Essential
Functions: * Recruit and train volunteers for FGP stations. * Site Coordination and Management. * Recognition and Retention for Regional Volunteers. * Collaborate with other Corporation for National Service (CNS) programs to develop a regional network of volunteer resources. * Gather and report service information. * Assist Program Manager with Advisory Council. * Develop and maintain a work place consistent with CCS Mission.

Requirements:



Minimum Qualifications * 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience. * Background in volunteer management and supervision. * Experience with and knowledge of the elderly population. * Reliable transportation to travel within region. * Good computer and organization skills. * Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment. * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, auto registration and automobile insurance. * Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy. (required to provide current driving abstract) * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services and a knowledge of and commitment to working within the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church. * Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork. * Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations. Preferred Qualifications * Fundraising knowledge/experience in the non-profit sector. * Experience in public speaking/making presentations.
