Description:

In a structured classroom setting provide a variety of educational services designed to meet the unique needs of Unaccompanied Alien children in federal custody. This position will be working 2 days a week, Tuesdays and Fridays. Subjects include Math, Science, Computer Literacy, Nutrition and PE.
Essential
Functions: * Provide a comfortable, secure environment to meet the emotional, social, intellectual needs of immigrant foster youth ages 6-12 years. * Work with a team that provides a learning environment that reflects student’s accomplishments while using materials that reflect cultural diversity. * In coordination with the Educational Coordinator, develop academic curriculum in accordance with the Division of Children’s Services (DCS) policy/procedure manual; review and update when necessary. * Develop daily lesson plans along with teaching materials that are age appropriate, with focus on grade school level creative writing, nutrition, PE, social studies, science and math. * Follow program Policy/Procedure guidelines outlined in our manual. * Attend weekly staff meetings with the International Foster Care team. * Document weekly children’s accomplishments, goals and/or concerns on weekly education summaries. * Meet with Program Supervisor for training/support and supervision. * Communicates directly and effectively with other team members. * Access student’s achievements on a continuous basis with case managers. * Responsible for maintaining a workplace, which values and supports a culturally diverse work environment. * Other duties as assigned.

Description:

Provide one-on-one support to high-risk children and youth in their homes and community. Their work will follow a plan of care for each child and family under the direction of a CCS Therapist. They will work with a primary caseload of clients assigned by the CSS Supervisor. They will act as primary skill builder assisting with the identification and implementation of appropriate activities to address lagging skills and will attend child and family meetings for clients on their caseload.

Position Summary:
The AmeriCorps Site Coordinator Support serves within elementary schools to implement the CIS model of integrating student services. The member will coordinate with community partners and volunteers to marshal resources necessary to address the social and emotional needs of students who are at risk of dropping out of school. Through the coordination of individual and group interventions, as well as prevention activities, the Site Coordinator Support is a key player in helping students toward graduation.
Responsibilities:
 Assist Site Coordinator with program management of the assigned CIS site: Coordinate implementation and monitoring of the annual site operations plan in partnership with the site coordinator, school site staff and administration. Ensure that needs assessment, service delivery, data tracking, and evaluation/reporting takes place.
 Participate in interdisciplinary meetings with site coordinator, school staff, and other resource providers involved in collaborative services. Represent CIS at events and meetings, as necessary. Work collaboratively to maintain a positive CIS image. Understand and demonstrate the CIS mission, goals and initiatives within the community.
 Secure community support and partnerships to meet school-wide and students’ needs as identified in the site operations plan.
 Work with public school stakeholders, including school administrators and staff, families, and counselors/social workers to identify students who need CIS services. Follow procedures for referral processes, assessment of student needs and strengths related to social, emotional and behavioral issues, identification of counseling focus, parent contacts and the use of referrals. Provide direct services to individual students and their families to identify and eliminate barriers to their academic/school success
 Coordinate whole school and prevention activities to meet school wide needs as identified in the annual site plan.
 Engage volunteers in a variety of ways to support student success. Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for school site. Provide overall scheduling and coordination of volunteer/student activities
 Identify opportunities for new programs or partnerships to be implemented in the school
 Coordinate data collection plan to evaluate the effectiveness of services in achieving school-wide goals and addressing the needs of individual students. Document progress and track site and student outcomes.
Monitor and adjust services as needed to maximize effectiveness and impact.
Required Qualifications:
 Bachelor or Associate’s Degree, preferably in the areas of social service, education, youth development, public administration or a related field
 Fluency in Spanish preferred – native or bilingual.
 U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
 18 years at the start of service
 Pass criminal history checks (NSOPR, State criminal history and FBI fingerprint)

Secondary functions include working collaboratively with other staff including Parent Partners who are providing support, service and intervention to other family members and assuring that other system partners understand the youth’s perspective. This position is not a role model position but a position that builds a positive connection that allows the young person to have support, skill and resources necessary to influence the direction of their own life. Successful applicants must have first person experience receiving system services and be prepared to disclose about their personal experiences with youth and others.

Position Description: The AmeriCorps member will serve as our Education and Outreach Coordinator. The member is the primary facilitator of our specimen-based “Nature in the Classroom” program (NIC). The AmeriCorps member’s duties include teaching NIC lessons in schools (primarily to upper elementary students), publicizing the program, and facilitating the use of museum materials by local educators. At least 250 hours of the member’s term will be spent in the classroom teaching the curricula. Materials in the ERC are in the early process of being cataloged and organized. The Education Resource Center Intern will focus on cataloguing items into our FileMaker Pro software. This intern will also assist with developing the scope and organization of the library along with processing donations of new materials. Strong candidates will have an attention to detail and experience with computer programs, basic library cataloguing, and resource organization. Additional experience working with library collections and information science in desired.

End Summer Hunger Campaign Corps Members (AmeriCorps)

United Way of King County is seeking End Summer Hunger Campaign Corps members to be a part of a team to end childhood hunger in King County. We are seeking full time members to be a part of United Way's Summer Meals Campaign, a program to help children and teens access healthy meals during the summer. In King County, 100,000 low-income children and teenagers rely on free or discounted meals during the school year, but less than 20% access free meals during the summer. Serve the community this summer by partnering with meal sites across King County to deliver free meals and educational activities to children while concurrently developing meaningful professional and life skills.

The Family Preservation System provides an integrated and flexible array of strengths-based therapeutic services and supports to families and children with complex therapeutic needs. Family Preservation Services are delivered primarily in the client’s home or community and are designed to reinforce the strengths of the family to prevent the out-of-home placement of a child or prepare for the return home of a child from out-of-home care. Services focus on empowering the family to effectively use their strengths and abilities to address their needs and challenges with the primary goals of supporting them to become self-sufficient and to strengthen their relationships with community and natural supports that can sustain their long term success.
Position

Description:
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this position will provide direct support to site leadership regarding data, outcomes and financial impacts to include time sensitive assignments. This position requires a high level of confidentiality.











Essential

Functions:
* Respond in a timely manner to staff and front desk inquiries, providing resources and information, directing staff to the correct source. * Receives requests for information, advises the requester of available information or refers the individual to the appropriate staff person. * Type, from rough draft and verbal instruction, letters, memos, forms, reports, notes, reviews and other documents. Revise forms as needed. * Schedule and coordinate meetings with community partners. * Maintain and schedule the calendar for the Site. * Create flyers, emails and presentations when needed. * Plan and coordinate events held by site staff. * Provides back-up to other Operations Team members to include covering phones, special projects, training coordination and support in quality assurance. * Organize data and information into usable formats. * Track FAST and BRS consumers at intake and exit by using current data collection system. * Maintain FAST and BRS client lists and develop reports for leadership team on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. * Maintain client files. * Assist and conduct reference calls for potential candidates. * Prepare and send the Request to Open to Human Resources for approval and posting. * Assist with tracking applicants. * Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: * Associate’s degree or equivalent in experience. * Experience entering data into the PsychConsult Database. * Two years’ administrative support services experience working in an office with progressively increasing duties. * Strong computer skills especially in MS Office. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. * Typing 50 words per minute, 10-key by touch. * Experience with multi-line phone system. * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, auto registration and automobile insurance. * Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy (required to provide current driving abstract). * Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment. * Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services. * Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations. Description:

The Administrative Medical Assistant is responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating medical records as well as managing the CCS psychiatric providers’ schedule. The Medical Assistant is also the interface point between the psychiatric providers and families, other providers, and pharmacists.
Essential
Functions: * Maintain confidentially of all clinical and medical information. * Schedule all patient appointments and manage the psychiatric schedule. * Make appointment reminder calls to client families and mail out pre-appointment paperwork and reminders. * Distribute paperwork to appropriate staff and ensure its return. * Maintain a positive, respectful working relationship with clients and parents, physicians, insurance companies, care coordinators, therapists, and pharmacists. * Function as interface point between psychiatric staff and therapists and families. * Utilize online prescription service, log prescription refills in client’s file and call or fax in medication refills per psychiatric staff’s request. * Maintain medical files with appointment records and psychiatric notes. * Input psychiatric services into billing system. Follow up with Data Management staff or Operations Manager to troubleshoot billing issues. * Guide clinical documents through the psychiatric sign-off process. * Follow proper procedures for releasing client documents. * Respond to requests for records from other providers and agencies. * Work with administrative team to ensure the provision of current clinical forms to staff, provide phone coverage as needed, prepare records for release to other providers and agencies and provide technical support for therapists in file organization. * Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: * High School Diploma or equivalent with one year administrative experience. * Age 21 or older per Oregon requirements. * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. * Experience providing consistent, respectful, and professional customer service. * Experience maintaining records and documentation in a medical or mental health setting. * Knowledge of contemporary office software including Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access (or similar). * Ability to manage a wide range of office telecommunications equipment that are integrated with a large computer network, including phones, faxing, coping, printing, etc., in a busy office environment. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Excellent organizational skills with ability to work in a very busy/diverse environment. * Applicant must successfully pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment. * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, auto registration and automobile insurance. * Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy (required to provide current driving abstract). * Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services. * Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
