Description:

The International Foster Care program (IFC) provides a safe, nurturing foster care environment for children who have fled their countries of origin. This comprehensive set of services includes education, legal, social and psychological supports all directed at achieving safety, stability and healthy development. Children come to us as refugees, victims of trafficking and asylees from around the world, including the following countries of origin: Vietnam, Cambodia, China, the Sudan, Myanmar and Central America (El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala).
Position
Description:

The International Foster Care Program provides long-term foster care to refugee and immigrant children from countries around the world. Position requires you to work independently and as part of a team with case management responsibilities for children. These services include; education, legal, social/psychological supports all directed at achieving safety and healthy development. Consultation, training, and advocacy are important components of this program. Must be able to manage time effectively and write comprehensive reports and service plans within strict deadlines. Experience in working with a variety of immigrant populations very desirable. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends. Although the position will be in Vancouver, job training will take place at CCS Tahoma Center in Tacoma.
Essential
Functions: * Identify and coordinate support services for unaccompanied refugee children placed in foster care. * Assist in planning cultural preservation activities for all children in our care. * Complete intake paperwork for new arrivals; to include individual service/safety plans for each child * Arrange for appropriate educational programs including English as a second language and bilingual programs. * Prepare the child for: o Family reunification; if possible o Independence and self-sufficiency o Immigration court hearings * Monitor the adjustment of the child in foster care. * Collect and maintain all necessary records required for adequate program reviews and evaluation. * Participate in related trainings/attend weekly staff meetings. * Other duties as may be reasonably delegated by the supervisor.
Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * BA/BS degree in Social Services. * Experience in case management; preferably with ethnic minorities and/or refugee populations * Good written and oral communication skills * Intermediate computer skills * Strong organizational skills. * Ability to maintain accurate case files and other necessary client records * Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment. * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and provide current auto registration. * Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy, (required to provide current driving abstract) * Proof of negative TB test upon hire or proof of test within past 12 months. * First/Aid CPR certified or the ability to become certified within the 1 month of employment * Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations. * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services. * Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: * Graduate degree in Social Services. * Bi-lingual in a refugee language. * Five years’ experience in case management. * Knowledge of Washington State child welfare regulations and procedures.

The International Foster Care Program provides long-term and short-term foster care to undocumented alien minor children (UAC), mostly from Central America. Position requires you to work independently and as part of a team with case management responsibilities for children. Consultation, training, and advocacy are important components of this program as well as identify/approve potential sponsors for family reunification. Experience working with immigrant populations desirable. There will be some evening and weekend hours required.
Essential
Functions: * Identify and coordinate support services for children in Long-Term & Short Term foster care youth. * Assist in planning cultural preservation activities for all children in our care. * Assist with medical and mental health appointments for youth * Implement ORR/DCS federal contracts for children in Transitional (short-term) and Long Term Foster Care. * Complete intake paperwork for new arrivals to include; intake assessment/ educational assessment/individual service/safety plans for each child. Provide detailed documentation in case files/court reports. * Identify/approve sponsors for the family reunification process * Arrange for appropriate educational programs for long-term foster care youth; including English as a second language and bilingual programs. * Prepare the child for: * Family reunification; if possible * Independence and self-sufficiency * Immigration court hearings * Voluntary departure to country origin; if necessary * Monitor the adjustment of the child in foster care. * Collect and maintain all necessary records required for adequate program reviews and evaluation. * Participate in related trainings/attend weekly staff meetings. * Other duties as may be reasonably delegated by the supervisor.
Job Requirements: * BA/BS degree in social work or related field. * Must be Bi-lingual in Spanish. * Two years’ experience working with diverse populations; preferably with ethnic minorities and, or refugee populations. * Experience working in a child welfare setting. * Good written and oral communication skills. * Intermediate computer skills. * Ability to maintain accurate case files and other necessary client records. * Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment. * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and provide current auto registration. * Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy, (required to provide current driving abstract) * Proof of negative TB test upon hire or proof of test within past 12 months. * First/Aid CPR certified or the ability to become certified within the 1 month of employment. * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services and a knowledge of and commitment to working within the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church. * Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork. Program Description:


Catholic Community Services, Homeless Adult Services (HAS) is the largest provider of adult homeless services in Tacoma, Washington. Nativity House (NH), a program of HAS, is the central hub to serve homeless adults in the Pierce County region.   It operates 24-hour/7-day a week, offering services (emergency shelter, meals, systematic outreach, Rapid Rehousing, Mental Health and Co-Occurring Disorder treatment, Employment Services, Spiritual Support, 50 units of permanent supportive housing, etc.) to meet the basic needs of individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.
Position Description:


This staff member is responsible for the overall coordination of the Employment Lab and will cultivate business relationships within the greater Pierce County region that relate to the program’s four focus areas. The Employment Navigator focuses on strategies designed to make a difference in the lives of individuals with multiple barriers to employment and economic self-sufficiency. As an Employment Navigator, you will help program participants one-on-one and in group settings increase their employability, find gainful employment, and ultimately strengthen their financial stability.
Essential Functions:
·   Support participant in ongoing development of Individualized Education and Career Plan from interests and skills assessments with clear education and/or employment goals, while identifying barriers and their solutions.
·   Do an Employability Assessment to determine clients’ strengths and areas of needed improvement.
·   Support participants who are approaching graduation from the Employment Lab with job placement in the community.
·   Track progress of the Individualized Education and Career Plan and support participants while facilitating advancement and career progression.
·   Facilitate workshops such as basic computer skills, resume writing, job search and interviewing skills, as well as connect program graduates to potential employers for job placement.
·   Link participants to community-based employment support services, education/training providers, career and industry information, and employment opportunities.
·   Remain current with local job market and community resources.
·   Provide support and training one-to-one as well as small group settings as needed for success.
·   Work collaboratively with other HAS staff, local colleges, social services providers, industry representatives, and employers to assist HAS guess with successful reintegration back into the workforce.
·   Recruit and coordinate volunteers to support participants in their employment activities
·   Research prospective employers and identify the potential for matching them with program participants
·   Assist team members with ongoing continuous quality improvement to enhance program operations, including problem solving, helping to develop program systems or procedures, or participating in team workgroups.
·   Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Bachelor degree in Human Services, Social Work or a related field; experience in related field will be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of two years of case management experience working in social work, employment or human services.
  • Detail oriented and can perform organizational duties with a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage and educate.
  • Demonstrate quality communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to support and maintain an environment that honors cultural awareness and competency.
  • Ability to support the missions set forth by each program and their parent organizations CCS/CHS as well as the mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment.
·         Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
·         Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy, (required to provide current driving abstract)
