Social Media Intern (Geneva Foundation, DT Tacoma)

Social Media Intern
Overview:
We are seeking a creative and motivated individual with a passion for social media communication  to work with Geneva’s Recruiting Team to build our recruiting social media presence.  This intern position will work on a variety of projects and leverage the passive candidate recruiting tools in our Applicant Tracking System (iCIMS).  A significant focus of this intern position will be researching and proposing social media options for recruiting that both leverage the iCIMS capabilities and work independently of that technology.

The position is a non-paid, part-time internship and can be credit based with a time commitment of 8-12 hours per week, at least two days per week.

The Social Media Intern will join Geneva’s Human Resources Team and work in a positive and dynamic environment. The position offer the chance to build on existing talents, learn new skills and gain valuable experience building an online recruiting presence under the guidance of recruiting professionals. This is a volunteer internship (for credit).

Responsibilities:
  • Build the profile groups & descriptions in iCIMS Connect (applicant tracking system)
  • Prepare the email campaigns for those profile groups
  • Research and propose a plan for a recruiting Twitter account
  • Posts updates, news and announcements in a timely manner using appropriate content to Geneva’s LinkedIn page
  • Conduct internet research including how to use Google+ for recruiting
  • Interact with the recruiting team, as needed, regarding project preparation and completion
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.  Marketing, advertising, communications or business administration majors preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of a variety of social media platforms
  • Understanding of basic principles or public relations and/or marketing
  • Knowledge of basic HTML codes is a strong plus
  • Intermediate level computer skills including MS Office
  • Excellent time management skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrates competence in oral and written communication
  • Must possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
