PROGRAM PROFILE:  Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) enables customers access to innovative solutions so they can best serve the people of Washington State. The Data and Business Intelligence team designs, manages, and implements data/system integration solutions for all aspects of DES and its statewide customers.  Duties:

POSITION PROFILE

As the Integration Solution Specialist Support, this position is responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and support for enterprise integration solutions and actively supports the DES Integration Team. Serves as technical support to the Integration Services Team in solving critical data and system integration problems.

YOUR DUTIES 
This position serves as the operational support for the integration software platforms and mission critical integration solutions.  This position designs and codes simple Data Exchange solutions, integrating DES mission-critical solutions with systems managed by other state agencies.  

OPERATION SUPPORT AND INTEGRATION SOFTWARE ADMINISTRATION
  • Provides ongoing maintenance and support of the agency’s enterprise integration solutions, including both messaging and ETL technologies, including Websphere MQ, Informatica PowerCenter and Data Integration Hub, Monitor production data exhanges.
  • Creates connections to move data from various state agencies to Apptio, the Information Technology Financial Management (ITFM).
  • Provides administration and oversight of the ETL tool(s) used for loading agency Information Technology Financial Management data to Apptio.
  • Oversees integration issue resolutions by facilitating and documenting decisions based on value, cost and long term outcomes.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION
  • Analyzes and documents existing and proposed integration standards, integration definitions, and business rules.
  • Provides technical consulting and advice to project staff, internal ETS staff, TLA agencies on design of integration solution for enterprise systems.
  • Documents technical specifications for integration solutions between enterprise applications
  • Responsible for gathering and understanding the techincal requirements for creating enterprise integration solutions.

ENGINEER AND DEVELOPING INTEGRATION SOLUTIONS
  • Designs and codes complex data exchange and/or near-real-time messaging solutions, integrating DES mission-critical solutions with systems managed by other state agencies.
  • Develops workflows using Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Utilizes IBM WebSphere MQ, Informatica Data Integration Hub and other technologies as appropriate.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


This position works in a standard office environment.  The typical workweek is Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. This position is overtime exempt and will be required to work additional hours outside the regularly scheduled hours to meet business needs. Minimal travel within Olympia will be required.
 Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (experience can be concurrent)


Five years of information technology experience including two years of experience in integration software server administration, troubleshooting and resolving WebSphere MQ application and connection issues, gathering and documenting technical requirements for data integration solutions, AND possess the required knowledge and abilities listed below
.
OR
An Associate’s degree OR equivalent two (2) years of vocational training in a technical field AND three (3) years of experience integration software server administration, troubleshooting and resolving Websphere MQ application and connection issues, gathering and documenting technical requirements for data integration solutions, AND possess the required knowledge and abilities listed below.
OR

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related technical/business discipline AND two (2) years of experience integration software server administration, troubleshooting and resolving Websphere MQ application and connection issues, gathering and documenting technical requirements for data integration solutions, AND possess the required knowledge and abilities listed below.
AND

Possess the following knowledge of:
  • Complex enterprise systems and emerging technologies.
  • Current technologies such as .NET, JAVA, SQL, WebSphere, Informatica.
  • Concepts for data and application integration.
  • Server Administration for Websphere MQ and Informatica.
  • The current information technology industry including application and data integration design, development, and integration/middleware technologies.
Possess the following ability to:
  • Engineer and support enterprise integration services.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration solutions to resolution.
  • Develop and implement standards and procedures for integration solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL-Server or other relational database management systems.
  • Experience with Websphere MQ administration, troubleshooting connections and application issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to disseminate information and instructions.
  • Ability to multi-task; provide high-level support for more than one project at a time.
  •  Organization and time management skills.
  •  Team oriented.
