About this job:
The Community Services and Housing Division, Office of Crime Victims Advocacy is recruiting for a Commerce Specialist 2 in the Sexual Assault Services Program. The responsibilities are grant coordination and development, monitoring grantee performance, providing technical assistance to support grantees’ success in service delivery and prevention efforts, as well as use of knowledge and expertise on crime victim services to contribute to development and implementation of grant service standards, management standards, and sexual assault program development.
Key Duties:
Grant coordination: Develop funding applications and requests for proposals; evaluate applications and make funding recommendations to program manager; review, negotiate and execute grant agreements; monitor grants and provide technical assistance to ensure achievement of program goals and objectives.
Program development: participate in planning and development of program processes, projects or policies; assist with program advisory groups, workgroups, and stakeholder processes.
Serve as the program lead on one or more statewide initiatives such as accreditation, Infonet service data, or the federal SASP formula grant program.
Develop, analyze, and assess technical assistance plans using professional experience and knowledge, journal articles, research, best practice standards, and consultation, as needed.
Coordinates and/or conducts training and provides technical assistance to staff and service providers, public policy makers, based on best practice analysis, literature search, and field experience.
Assists with the development and implementation of data collection systems that meet individual program requirements and needs.
Conducts monitoring of required service data reported by grantees; checks for timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree AND two years of professional experience providing crime victim services and/or administration of services within a crime victim services program. (Additional professional level experience in providing crime victim services and/or administration of services within a crime victims services program may substitute, year-for-year, for the education requirement. A graduate or advanced degree may substitute for one year of the required experience.)
One year experience in contracting public funds to community agencies.
One year experience working for or in partnership with organizations based in marginalized communities and/or Native American tribes.
Professional experience interpreting and applying detailed policies and procedures.
Professional experience using word processing applications, building and editing spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, and use of internet for research.
Demonstrated high-level interpersonal communication skills; clear oral and written communication ability; able to work effectively with contractors and other clients.
Desirable Qualifications:
One year of experience creating presentation materials and conducting presentations or training.
