Program Description:
|
The Family Preservation System
provides an integrated and
flexible array of strengths-based
therapeutic services and supports to families and children with complex therapeutic needs.
Family Preservation Services are delivered primarily in the client’s home or community and are designed to reinforce the strengths of the family to prevent the out-of-home placement of a child
or prepare for the return
home of a child
from out-of-home care. Services focus on empowering the family to effectively use their
strengths and abilities to address their needs
and challenges with the primary goals of supporting them to become
self-sufficient and to strengthen their relationships with
community and natural
supports that
can sustain their long
term success.

Position Description:
|
This
position provides innovative services and supports to children, youth and
families in their homes and other community locations. Our creative and
effective mental health service interventions include extended stabilization
support as well as long-term, team-based services with the potential for
crisis intervention. Emphasis is on achieving incredible outcomes with
children, youth, and families by actively partnering with them along with
their natural and community services and supports to achieve long term safety
and stability in our neighborhoods and communities. Position is Full-time with extensive
benefits. Schedules are flexible to accommodate client family needs and
includes 24/7 availability with some evenings and weekends.

Essential Functions:
|
·
Provides
intensive and strength based therapeutic mental health services and supports to children, youth and families in the home and community.
·
Provide
one-on-one supervision and assessment of current
safety needs.
·
Model and teach
appropriate social behavior and skills.
·
Provide
direct supervision and redirection of children.
·
Connect and introduce youth and family to community resources.
·
Identify and access
positive relationships for the child and
family.
·
Demonstrates the ability to communicate the
mission and goals of CCS Family Preservation supporting and focusing a child
and family team
with confidence and trust
toward meeting the family’s therapeutic mission
and goals.
·
Demonstrates the ability to meet documentation standards using collaborative problem
solving strategies to ensure
complete, accurate and strength based documentation
for all children/youth and families served.
·
Demonstrates vision and originality in safety
and treatment planning with families, implementing service planning strategies that fit
the family’s uniqueness, personality and culture and driven by child/youth and
family voice.
·
Works
with community partners, mental
health consumers and their
families using
a non-judgmental approach that is timely and responsive to their
individual and unique
needs and concerns.
·
Supports
and embraces a diverse
work environment and their clinical team by demonstrating a commitment to teamwork along
with open and honest communication.
·

Job Requirements:
|
·
21 years
or older per DSHS requirement
·
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, auto registration and automobile insurance.
·
Agency Affiliated License (HIV/AIDS training required) or applied for within
1st month of employment
·
Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’
driving policy
(required to provide current driving abstract)
·
First/Aid
CPR certified or the ability to become certified within the 1 month
of employment
·
Proof
of negative
TB test within
past 12 months
or ability or test
within first six months of employment.
·
Applicant must successfully pass
required background checks prior
to an offer
of employment.
·
Ability to work both independently and as a member
of a team.
·

Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver
culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
Preferred Qualifications
·
One year experience serving children and/or families
(mental health, social services, education, etc.)
·
B.A.
in social
services, mental
health or related degree.
