DESCRIPTION:
The Finance and Administrative Services Division (FASD) of the Employment Security Department (ESD) is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 4 (AA4). This position provides administrative support and assistance to the Director of Internal Audit, the Director of Office of Lean
Transformation, and the Director of Workforce Monitoring. This position contributes to the mission of ESD by participating in the development of the strategic direction, objectives and continuous quality improvements.
DUTIES:
Prepare, process, and track all personnel and position actions; complete all HR paperwork and coordinate timelines (i.e., recruitment, hiring, personnel actions, position descriptions, yearly evaluations, service awards, etc.); review personnel requests for content and accuracy; request revisions as necessary; timesheet processing and approval for the branch.
Track and monitor performance evaluation schedules.
Conduct routine administrative activities and communications; monitor information, requests and internal assignments to ensure timely completion; assist in administrative projects and business process assignments.
Coordinate travel arrangements and maintain supporting documents. Coordinate and maintain calendars and appointment schedules; coordinate and make meeting arrangements; prepare agendas and handouts; document, provide, and maintain meeting minutes.
Prepare review, and maintain correspondence, reports, forms and documents for signature; develop and maintain current lists and matrixes (i.e., organization charts, phone lists, signature authority matrix, training requests, required policy reviews, etc.).
Plan and organize local, area and state events and activities.
Process and maintain order requests and invoice payments; review reports for non- authorized payments.
Process contract payments and prepare reimbursement requests.
Maintain accurate position and employee reports.
Research operating procedures with other agencies; establish procedures and develop improved administrative methods.
Promote compliance with agency guidelines and area strategies; assist staff in understanding policy and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required qualifications
Working-level computer skills - use computer hardware and software to complete assignments.
Working-level writing skills - convey information in writing according to the needs of the audience.
Working-level oral communication skills - convey information orally according to the needs of
the audience, and receive and understand spoken information.
Working-level workload management skills - plan and organize assignments to create timely, accurate work products. Work efficiently, remain focused, and handle interruptions effectively.
Awareness-level knowledge of human resource principles and procedures.
Desired qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Visio.

Emerald Queen Hotel & Casino

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

CASINO POSITIONS:

* Restaurant Shift Manager: Minimum two years management experience in a high volume restaurant environment. Must have extensive knowledge in all aspects of front and back of the house operations. Good verbal and written communication skills are required with knowledge of computers and POS systems. Must be able to demonstrate superior guest service skills, have good manual and finger dexterity for computer operation, with the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Must have a valid food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Table Games Dealer: Prior casino dealing experience required. Must be able to stand for extended lengths of time, have good math skills, and be able to follow detailed instructions. Good manual and finger dexterity required. Must deal at least two of the three major games (blackjack, roulette, and craps). Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Human Resources Representative: Bachelor's degree is preferred; Associates degree in business or related field is required. Must have a minimum of two years clerical/administrative experience in similar organization with good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent phone etiquette with general front desk skills is essential with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must be familiar with an HRIS program preferably Ultipro. Human Resources experience is required. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Lead Cage Cashier: One year cash handling experience required including check cashing. Some supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have good manual and finger dexterity, the ability to bend, reach, squat and lift at least 25 pounds. Must have mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Ten-key experience preferred. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Cage Cashier I: Minimum one year cash handling experience is required. One year of cashing checks with previous casino or banking experience is preferred. Previous work experience operating a 10 key calculator, cash drawer and cage scanning equipment is desired. Basic math skills are required. Must be able to pass a cage cashier test. Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Income Auditor Level I: Two year degree in accounting, math or completion of a business, vocational, or technical college in accounting, bookkeeping, business or related field is required. Additional related education or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Valet Attendant: Previous valet parking attendant experience preferred. Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License, good driving record with current driving abstract, and the ability to be insured and bonded. Must be friendly and courteous, and be able to provide high level of guest service. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* POS Attendant: Must have one year of cash handling experience and be able to learn and know the rules and procedures of the Tribal Lottery Department. Must possess strong guest relation skills. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Dual Rate Runner/POS Attendant: Must have one year of cash handling experience and be able to learn and know the rules and procedures of the Tribal Lottery Department. Must possess strong guest relation skills. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Tribal Lottery Runner: Performs runner’s duties according to department policies and procedures. Must have one year of cash handling experience, good math skills and have good manual and finger dexterity. Must be able to follow direction and implement tasks given and be able to stand for longer than 8 hours. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Housekeeper: One year hotel guestroom cleaning experience required. Knowledge of using cleaning solutions and floor machines required. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have the ability to lift 25 pounds and the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Part Time Showroom Usher: Must possess excellent guest service skills. Must have the ability to stand and sit for extended lengths of time and be able to read ticket information in a dimly lit area. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

FOOD & BEVERAGE POSITIONS:

RESTAURANT:

* Food Server (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Minimum two years high volume fine dining or casual dining food service experience is required. Must have good grooming habits and manners with ability to provide excellent guest service. Must be able to follow specific instructions and have a valid food handler’s card. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Lead Deli Attendant: Minimum two years counter service experience with previous food handling required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must be able to monitor the quality of products and services provided by the deli staff while ensuring compliance with departmental standards and requirements. Cash handling experience including credit card transactions is required. Must have a valid food handler’s card. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have the mobility to climb stairs on a regular basis and be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.
* Hostess/Cashier (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Six months restaurant experience required. Greets guests, finds suitable table for number of guests and acts as cashier. Must be able to make correct change and calculate daily receipts. Must have valid food handler’s card and good manual and finger dexterity for operation of computerized sales register. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours and have the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Deli Attendant (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Minimum one year counter service required. Cash handling, credit transactions, and food handling required with th e ability to stand longer than 8 hours and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Must have valid food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Busser (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Restaurant experience preferred. Must be able to follow specific instructions and have good guest service skills. Must have a valid Washington State food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

KITCHEN:

* F&B Driver: Must have a valid Washington State Drivers License and a good driving record with the ability to provide a valid driving abstract. Six months driving experience is required with preferred restaurant and inventory experience. Experience with walking, standing, climbing stairs, and lifting items over 50 pounds is required with the ability to safely operate company vehicle. Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions. Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Lead Line Cook: Culinary training with at least three years experience in line cooking for a dinner house. Must have experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steaming. Experience in training of staff is preferred. Must be fast and capable of working on as many as 30 orders at a time with the ability to coordinate cooking times with co-workers. Must have valid food handler’s card and be able to stand for longer than 8 hours. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Banquet/Buffet Cook: Culinary training and two years experience in line cooking for a dinner house required. Experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing and steaming. Must be fast and capable of working on different functions at one time and be able to coordinate cooking times with co-workers and have a valid food handler’s card. Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Employee Dining Cook: Culinary training and two years experience in line cooking for a dinner house required. Breakfast, lunch and dinner cooking for the Employee Break Room. Experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steaming. Must have experience prepping red meat, fish, shellfish, poultry and pastas. Must be able to coordinate cooking times with co-workers. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have the ability to lift 40 pounds, the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis and have a valid food handler’s card. Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Line Cook: Culinary training with at least two years experience line cooking for a dinner house is required. Must have experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steaming. Must be fast and capable of working on as many as 30 orders at a time with the ability to coordinate cooking times with co-workers. Must have valid food handler’s card and be able to stand for longer than 8 hours. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Extra Board Fry Cook (On-Call): Culinary training preferred and/or at least two years experience in line, prep or pantry cooking. Experience in grilling, broiling and sautéing. Preps red meat and pastas. Must be fast and capable of working on as many as 30 orders at a time. Must be able to coordinate cooking times with co-workers, have knowledge of food decoration and food temperatures, and be able to prepare food quickly and efficiently while maintaining good personal health standards. Must have valid food handler’s card and be able to stand for longer than 8 hours. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Steward: One year experience working in a high volume full service restaurant is required. Must be able to handle receiving food, supplies and materials for the kitchen and take a daily inventory. Valid Washington State food handler’s card is required with knowledge of proper food storage procedures. Must be able to stand longer than 8 hours, have the ability to lift 40 pounds and the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position.

* Prep Cook: Must possess basic culinary knowledge, be able to follow directions and have the desire to advance into a skilled cooking position. Must have valid food handler’s card and the ability to stand for longer than 8 hours and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Dishwasher: Prior kitchen experience preferred. Able to work quickly and efficiently. Willing to learn how to operate and maintain an automatic dishwasher. Willing to learn sanitation policies and procedures. Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and have a valid food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

BAR:

* Bartender (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Bartending School recommended. Experience may substitute for schooling. One year experience bartending. Must know all cocktails, beers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Good communication skills required. Must have valid food handler’s card. Must be neat, clean and professional and able to work well with customers and coworkers and have the ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Beverage Server (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Bartending School helpful. Six months experience cocktail serving required. Must be able to stand and walk for extended lengths of time. Ability to work with POS systems. Ability to work well with guests and co-workers and have good communication skills. Must have valid food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Lead Barback: Bartending School preferred. Six months experience as a Barback is required. Assists Bartender with stocking, mixing beverages, pouring beer, and general cleaning. Efficient and healthy work habits. Must be able to work with the public. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours and able to lift 40 pounds. Must have valid food handler’s card. Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

SECURITY:

* Security Officer Parking Lot Observer: Minimum one year of security experience is required. Previous experience utilizing CCTV or DVR for surveillance purposes is preferred. Must be able to effectively communicate with others and have good guest relation skills. Must have the physical capabilities to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs on a routine basis and have good manual and finger dexterity. Valid driving abstract is required Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and be able to maintain a high level of concentration. Be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Security Officer (Full Time & Part Time): Prior security experience required. Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and provide a recent copy of Department Motor Vehicles driving abstract. Able to learn and follow detailed security manual procedures. Excellent communication and guest service skills. Must have ability to stand longer than 8 hours and the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Basic report-writing skills required. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Security Officer Level II: Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and provide a recent copy of Department Motor Vehicles driving abstract. Must have excellent driving record and be able to be insured and bonded. Excellent communication and guest service skills is required. Must be able to learn and follow detailed security manual procedures and possess basic report writing skills. Must be able to lift 75 pounds and the physical capabilities to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

FACILITIES:

* Deep Cleaning Worker: Six months experience in general housekeeping and ground clean up. Experience and knowledge with cleaning solutions and repairing cleaning equipment. Keeps interior and exterior building clean and ready for the next business day. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Organize and prioritize assigned HR business process work to meet daily and short term goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Two plus years’ experience in administrative support or specialist role

* Excellent customer services skills including the ability to interface with candidates for a wide variety of jobs and internal customers at all levels of the organization
* Ability to interpret and apply HR polices and guidelines
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Ability to take initiative and work both independently and as a part of a team
* Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and other applications
* High School or equivalent required – BA/BS in Business, HR or related field preferred
* General understanding of Human Resources with a particular sensitivity to maintaining confidentiality required - Advanced training and/or certification in specific disciplines within HR preferred

* Demonstrated experience using HR Management Systems, especially SAP
* Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including conditional formatting, pivot tables and performing calculations

JOB SUMMARY: LeMay-America’s Car Museum’s Education Interns are instrumental in providing outstanding programs for Museum visitors, students, educators, and informal learning groups. The Education Curriculum Development and Research Intern will be responsible for working directly with the education team to research and develop our group visit (field trip) curriculum for school groups for the 2015-2016 school year. In addition, the intern will assist in the development of gallery activities which highlight STEM learning objectives, specifically those relating to energy and alternative fuels. Strong candidates will have experience teaching, knowledge of common core standards, and strong communication skills. Additional knowledge of integrating iPads as platforms for creative learning is desired.
Responsibilities:


DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Education Manager




1. Develop a strong understanding of the collection, exhibits, and existing K-12 school program curriculum.
2. Assist with the facilitation of the Museum’s education group visits to learn current approach.
3. Research and develop materials for future school year as directed by education staff.
4. Research material for exhibit on STEM learning, energy, and fuels for the future and corresponding curriculum and outreach activities.
5. Connect curriculum to common core standards.
6. Be on time and prepared for shifts, meetings, and appointments.
7. Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate boundaries in all interactions with employees, students, and outside contacts.
8. Complete all shift responsibilities as required, both on time and accurately.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY: LeMay-America’s Car Museum’s Education Interns are instrumental in providing outstanding programs for Museum visitors, students, educators, and informal learning groups. The Education department is also responsible for the Museum’s Education Resource Center (ERC), a collection of books, periodicals, and print materials showcasing the history and development of the automobile. Materials in the ERC are in the early process of being cataloged and organized. The Education Resource Center Intern will focus on cataloguing items into our FileMaker Pro software. This intern will also assist with developing the scope and organization of the library along with processing donations of new materials. Strong candidates will have an attention to detail and experience with computer programs, basic library cataloguing, and resource organization. Additional experience working with library collections and information science in desired.


DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Education Manager

From marketing to facilitation, interns assist with both preparation and execution of various Education Department programs. Interns may also assist with administrative duties and developing outreach opportunities. Strong candidates will have experience teaching, good customer service and communication skills, and enjoy engaging all ages. Additional knowledge of iPads and use of applications in creative learning is desired.

JOB TITLE: Human Resources Consultant
REPORTS TO: Director, LSS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position serves as a professional expert in various human resource areas. Provides advice and consultation to all Legislative sub-agencies, including Legislative Support Services (LSS), Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee (JLARC), Legislative Evaluation and Accountability Program (LEAP), Legislative Service Center (LSC), Office of the State Actuary (OSA), Statute Law Committee (SLC), and the Joint Transportation Committee (JTC). Handles or oversees the organization’s most sensitive, complex, or critical human resource issues.
The position will be part of the Administration workgroup in the Office of Legislative Support Services (LSS) within the State Legislature and reports to the director of LSS, per the attached organizational chart.
TYPICAL WORK:
 Provides advice, interpretation and counsel to clients regarding applicable human resource rules, regulations, policies and procedures in areas such as classification, compensation, performance management, problem resolution, reasonable accommodation, organizational development, hiring and recruiting, discipline, termination and layoff;
 Assists with position descriptions and qualifications across all assigned legislative sub-agencies;
 Meets with administrators, supervisors and employees to assess human resource needs; plans, develops and implements strategies to promote effective client relations and to resolve problems;
 Analyzes, proposes and draft classifications and salary recommendations within existing salary bands; reviews and allocates positions;
 Analyzes organizational structure of client units; develops and proposes alternative staffing configurations to enhance unit effectiveness;
 Investigates, prepares documentation and recommends position on internal grievances, complaints and appeals; serves as representative in a variety of appeal or adjudicative forums;
 Develops and conducts presentations, training programs and workshops regarding human resource functions, management practices, rules or procedures;
 Researches and analyzes proposed rules, laws and program elements to determine impact on unit or organizational operations; participates in planning and implementing new human resource programs, policies and procedures;
 Reviews, approves, or makes recommendations on requests for exceptions to policy;
 Assists and consults on the development of agency policy manuals.
 Assists with Public Records Act request in conjunction with House and Senate
Counsels;
 Works and consults with both House and Senate counsel(s) on human resource legal issues;
 Acts as primary point of contact with the attorney general’s office on personnel related matters; consults with the relevant assigned Attorney General’s on personnel related issues;
 Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years Human Resource management
 3-5 years of broad-based professional human resource experience, including facilitating organizational development or change, and advising and consulting on human resource issues
 At least three 3 years supervising HR staff (experience may be gained concurrently with professional HR experience).
 Proficient in Federal and local employment laws, rules, regulations and procedures
 Experience working with exempt, “at-will” employees
 Knowledge of the legislature and legislative operations, including the various legislative agencies
 Knowledgeable in performance management
 Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills
 Ability to work quickly and calmly under stress
 Superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
 Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust across organizational boundaries
 Outstanding customer service skills, excellent judgment and common sense
 Experience developing work standards and policy manuals
 Ability to be a contributing member of a cohesive team, as well as, work independently while seeking appropriate assistance and input from others
EDUCATION:
 A Bachelor’s or graduate degree with focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field or a juris doctorate from an accredited institution.
 Working knowledge of employment and labor law.
 PHR or SPHR Certification
COMPENSATION:
Salaries for professional legislative staff are competitive. The starting salary range is $70,000 - $85,000, annually, depending on the successful applicant's education and experience. Assists in the analysis of accessible and available alternate payment resources and advises management on procedures, methods and maximizing the use of these payment resources for CHS. (Now referred to as referred care) EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Needs to have one year clerical experience, preferable in a health care field and one year experience working with patient care referrals and authorizations. FISHERIES BIOLOGIST: The Fisheries Biologist manages and directs the tribal fish hatchery, coordinates data collection, analyzes data and provides advice to the Tribe on multiple specie harvest units throughout the year. The incumbent will also be required to negotiate species harvests (time and number) with Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree with three years directly related experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in related field with five years directly related experience required.
