Program Assistant - International Data - Green River Community College

Position Summary:

The International Programs & Extended Learning office at Green River College serves approximately 1700 international students from more than 50 different countries.  The majority of these students are enrolled in academic classes with the intent to transfer and pursue four-year degrees.  

The Program Assistant - International Data 
helps maintain the marketing and operations support data used by the International Programs & Extended Learning department.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily data flow routines between IPEL departmental databases.  Trouble-shoot any issues and report to Data Manager
  • Execute quarterly SEVIS batch registration
  • Monitor students who drop below 12 credits during the quarter; notify student and advisor and assist with other SEVIS status monitoring procedures
  • Act as DSO with U.S. Immigrations to assist with SEVIS reporting, data entry
  • Monitor SEVIS Alert lists, research details and notify advisors, marketers and students as appropriate.
  • Assist with gathering required data for SEVIS recertification.
  • Assist marketing by adding newly approved agencies to ISMS and linking them to Salesforce
  • Support IP Subject Matter Expert for ctcLink project with monitoring and implementing necessary changes and training of staff
  • Assist with notification of incoming and current students of changes implemented as a result of ctcLink (SID change, single name format change)
  • Create written procedures for ctcLink implementation and other processes as directed 
  • Monitor online orientation registration activity and run reports for International Activities Manager
  • Update Performance Indices reports and other reports as requested
  • Assist with printing and assembling of orientation name tags and file labels
Qualifications:
Minimum:

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and strategically with all levels of professional, technical and administrative staff in a team effort
  • Ability to independently prioritize and multi-task numerous projects with demonstrated time management proficiency skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaborate and work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with and provide service to individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with the main marketing databases used by International Programs& Extended Learning: MS Access, Salesforce CRM, and SEVIS (Student/Exchange Visitor Information System)
  • Familiarity with higher education environment
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment

Senior Fiscal Analyst (Information Technology) Senate Ways and Means Committee

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Senate Committee Services provides nonpartisan staff support to the members and committees of the Washington State Senate in Olympia. Duties include:
 Reviewing and evaluating all IT-related operating budget requests submitted by state agencies and the Governor, including the priority ranking of IT projects established by the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to support implementation of the state's strategic IT plan.
 Monitoring and evaluating budget implementation of individual agencies, including agency IT project development, project oversight, and processes.
 Analyzing legislation with fiscal impact and following the progress of bills through the legislative process.
 Drafting bills, amendments, and other legislative documents.
 Developing and evaluating policy alternatives to assist Senators in meeting their goals.
 Presenting legislation and other budgetary matters to the Committee.
 Responding to inquiries on pertinent budget and fiscal issues.
 Developing appropriate professional relationships with state agency staff and interest groups.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
 Master’s degree in Information System Technology, Computer Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field.
 High level technical understanding of information technology.
 Expertise in understanding the development and implementation of IT systems. ERP experience is highly desirable.
 Experience with or knowledge of public sector budgeting and procedures is desired but not required.
 Proven ability to perform high-quality, objective research and analysis in a position requiring high levels of self-direction.
 Knowledge of the legislative process.
 Excellent research and communication skills, including strong analytical skills, clear and concise writing skills, and effective oral presentation skills.
 Proficient skills in computer applications, including applications involving spreadsheets and databases, word processing software, presentation applications, and online research.  Self-motivated, creative, flexible, and service-oriented approach to work.
 Willingness to work the long, irregular hours that are common during a legislative session.
 Capability to handle the complex, difficult situations that are common in the fast-paced, results-oriented, high-pressure legislature environment.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salaries for professional legislative staff are competitive. The specific salary will depend on the successful applicant’s education and experience.

Position Duties:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This position is responsible for actively supporting the execution of strategic initiatives, metric/report development, ad-hoc reports, maintenance of routine reports, and special projects as it relates to revenue operations and billing management, which may include root-cause analysis and process re-design.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

Analytics/Reporting (75%)
        Understand the business process with the ability to translate business requirements into analytical reporting
        Develop detailed reports to support performance and strategic business initiatives
        Run routine, ad hoc and support information requests in a quick turnaround climate
        Effectively review reports either created individually or by others
        Provide accurate and timely reporting of performance metrics to business and senior leadership team as requested or scheduled
        Summarize information and effectively communicate analyses in writing and verbally to customers

Special Projects (20%)
        Generate innovative solutions by approaching problems with curiosity and open mindedness, using existing information to its fullest potential
        Assist on various projects, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever changing and evolving business environment with shifting time frames
        Assist with CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) projects or other efforts designed to improve effectiveness/efficiency of the business
        Identify system and process improvements opportunities and make recommendations

Other Duties (5%)
        Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as scheduled or needed
        Perform other duties as assigned or required
        Travel required: up to 5%


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, including computer skills as required.

        Minimum of one (1) year related analytical experience required, including but not limited to:
o   Solid data analysis experience
o   Leadership experience
o   Project management skills
o   Strong communication skills
        Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, Access, SQL, or other analytical applications
        Experience using office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
        Expectation to read VBA by 90 Day Review
                                                               

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates who possess the following qualifications may be considered for a Senior Revenue Operations Data Analyst position
        Master’s degree in related area preferred
        Prior health care reimbursement / revenue cycle experience
        3 or more years of experience in a similar role
        Project management and/or System Development Life Cycle experience
        Tableau
        Cognos or other Business Intelligence platform experience
        VBA, VBA.Net, or other programming experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT      
 
Level III - Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
No required tasks involve greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues than would be encountered by a visitor. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids or other hazardous conditions.
