PROVIDER POSITIONS
CHILD & FAMILY ARNP/PSYCHIATRIST (part-time) – Medical Services:
Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for KMHS Child and Family patients. See patients individually and jointly with team members, and family members. Become an integral part of the treatment team using a full range of capabilities to assure adequate initial and ongoing assessment, to help team members to best use and expand their own skills in managing their patients and to provide a resource to team members for relevant aspects of psychiatry. Qualifications: ARNP or MD/DO license with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington with a specialty in child psychiatry. Experience with mentally ill children preferred. Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate with mentally ill consumers. Must be able to work collaboratively with agency staff, community providers, and family members of consumers.
OUTPATIENT ARNP/PSYCHIATRIST (part-time) – Medical Services:
Provide psychiatric services to KMHS patients with mental or emotional disturbances, substance abuse problems, and coincident medical problems. These services will be provided in the context of integrated multi-disciplinary care teams. Clinical duties may include psychiatric and addiction evaluations, differential diagnosis and complex decision-making, individualized treatment planning, psychiatric medical management, and medication assisted treatment for substance abuse disorders. Additional duties as part of the care team may include leadership, education, presentations, mentoring, and staff development. Qualifications: MD/DO: License to practice medicine or osteopathy in Washington. Successful completion of a residency in psychiatry. Board Certification preferred. ARNP: ARNP license with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington with a specialty in area of psychiatry appropriate to care team assignment (child and adolescent or adult).
SUPERVISORY POSITIONS
INFORMATION SERVICES DIRECTOR - Information Services:
Provide leadership and direction to the IS Department. Research, plan, develop, imple-ment, and maintain all computer, telecommunications and agency-wide information systems in a manner which will ensure that the informational and data processing needs of the agency and the Peninsula RSN are met. The IS Director is the agency’s HIPAA Security Officer, responsible for the ongoing manage-ment of information security policies, procedures, and technical systems in order to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all organizational healthcare information systems.Qualifications: BA in Computer Science or related field preferred. Two years supervisory experience in an IS environment. Four years experience in systems design or programming. Previous experience in a managed mental health care setting and with a full EHR system preferred. Knowledge of WA State DBHR requirements, CoCentrix (ProFiler), and Dynamics GP preferred. Knowledge of telephone systems desired. Accounting background helpful. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent documentation skills. Knowledge of information systems analysis and design, current technology for hardware and software, telecommunications, computer programming, and networks. At least two years experience in the following subjects is desirable: electronic health records, electronic financial and human resources systems, data base management, SQL operating systems, spreadsheets, Windows environments, and data communication tools. Ability to prioritize projects and work independently. Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust. Knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule and other government technology laws. Ability to weigh business risks and enforce appropriate information security measures. Most duties are performed in an office environment utilizing a wide variety of computer related equipment and software products. The incumbent may travel to the sites in the RSN in order to support the regional IS. Primary internal contacts include all agency computer users, supervisors, and management. External contacts are the PRSN office and staff/management at the other three agencies in the PRSN. Other external contacts include computer/telephone vendors, consultants, service representatives, and other mental health or medical facilities across the USA.
MENTAL HEALTH SHIFT SUPERVISOR (Day shift) – Youth Inpatient Unit:
Coordinate and monitor all shift activities. Make shift staffing and program assignments. Implement resident-client treatment plans under the supervision of the Program Manager. Assume major responsibility for ensuring a safe and structured treatment milieu. Serve as team leader/supervisor.Qualifications: Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or an equivalent combination of education (BA Degree) and experience; two years experience in relevant field; valid Washington Drivers License and reliable, insured transportation required. Supervisory experience preferred.
PROGRAM MANAGER – Youth Inpatient Unit:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Youth Inpatient Unit (YIU) and ensure quality services are provided. Qualifications: Master’ degree in social, behavioral or nursing disciplines or current license as an RN in Washington. Minimum two years experience working with individuals with mental illness. Minimum of two years supervisory experience, preferably in inpatient milieu. Mental Health Professional qualified, meet qualifications for child mental health specialist. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrates strong leadership abilities in complex situations. Computer experience highly desirable.
CLINICAL POSITIONS
ACCESS PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST (20hrs/wk) – Access:
The Peer Counselor has experience as a recipient of mental health services for severe and persistent mental illness and is willing to use and share his or her personal, practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its clients.
Provides the team with expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by clients to lead a satisfying life. Responsible for advocating for client choice, self-determination, and decision-making in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. Provides consultation to clients, families, and team staff in the areas of community resources, intake and treatment planning, crisis intervention, and substance abuse services. CARE TEAM MEDICAL ASSISTANT – Wheaton Way Office:
Provide support and assistance to the Care Team staff and clients so as to ensure timely and targeted comprehensive care interventions and coordination. Facilitate appropriate and timely preventative, specialty, and transitional health services to Care Team clients. Ensure client health data is accurately tracked in the client health record. Qualifications: Medical Assistant - Certified with medical clinic and patient education. Ability to work within interdisciplinary team setting on behalf of complex clients with extensive behavioral care needs. Experience with EMR and data tracking and ability to read data reports. Experience with venipuncture and capillary blood withdrawal. CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY PROFESSIONAL (CDP) – Wheaton Way Office:
Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating the clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients. Provide integrated substance use disorder and mental health treatment for KMHS clients to include: assessment, collaborative treatment planning, individual, family, and group therapy and perform all duties necessary to comply with relevant Kitsap County Chemical Dependency Treatment Contracts and all other regulatory agencies. Qualifications: Current licensure as a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) in WA State preferred, a Bachelor’s Degree in a social services discipline; significant experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders; Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report, and reliable personal transportation with business-rated insurance. CHILD & FAMILY THERAPIST (33hrs/wk) – Child & Family Services, Community Support Team:
Provide therapy services for children and adolescents in collaboration with the parents or guardians caring for them. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work, counseling/psychology or related field required. Two years experience working with children and families preferred. Child Mental Health Specialist and Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC) preferred. CHILD MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST – Access:
Serve as gatekeeper for Children’s Long Term Inpatient Care (CLIP) for Kitsap County and as a liaison between the County and the statewide CLIP committee. Coordinate a continuum of treatment services for seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families upon discharge from CLIP or community hospitals. To staff and facilitate the CLIP multi-disciplinary team and assistance to referents and providers regarding quality, collaboration, and efficiency. Participate in Youth Inpatient Unit Team meetings to identify children who may be entering CLIP and develop diversion plans for those who can be served in a less restrictive setting. Participate in monthly team meetings for each client in a CLIP facility.
Facilitate intake and situation-specific evaluation and referral services for clients in a community mental health setting. Provide services to Peninsula Regional Support Network (PRSN) consumers transitioning to and from other inpatient psychiatric facilities. Qualifications: Master’s degree in social sciences. Two years relevant experience working with families and children. Preferred experience with in depth knowledge of local child-serving systems and organizations; outstanding communication abilities; collaboration and administrative skills; high degree of professional acumen; knowledge of family centered practice and individualized and tailored care principles; knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; ability to analyze and interpret findings, perform site reviews, prepare comprehensive reports and conduct public presentations. Qualifications: Master's degree in related field with two years appropriate clinical experience in providing services to individuals and families; experience in therapeutic residential treatment setting highly preferred. Experience with the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and co-occurring substance use disorders is also preferred. Ensure the continuity of emergency mental health services for residents and visitors of Kitsap County, as per the provision of state and PRSN mandated crisis services, including DMHP duties. Qualifications: Masters Degree in counseling or one of the social sciences and 2 or more years experience in direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbances gained under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional (WAC 388-865-0150).Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.

Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for carrying out rehabilitation and support functions and assisting in treatment for individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. Provide substance abuse services, education, consultation to families, and crisis intervention services to clients assigned to the team, with most services delivered in the community via assertive outreach. Perform comprehensive psychiatric medical assessment and participate in the planning and development of a treatment approach which includes all aspects of the bio/psychosocial model, reviewing admits with the Charge Nurse and provide Admitting Orders for patients during midweek, and performing psychiatric evaluations and treatment on weekends. Psychiatric and medical decision-making for care of inpatients. Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. Licensed to practice medicine in Washington. Specialization in psychiatry. Board certified or eligible preferred.
ON-CALL REGISTERED NURSE - $31.00/HR:
Provide nursing care and medical supervision to clients and residents in all units of 24-Hours Services (Adult Inpatient Unit, Youth Inpatient Unit, and Residential Services). Participate as a member of the therapeutic treatment team. Qualifications: Registered Nurse in Washington State. Two years RN experience preferred. Two years experience in mental health preferred. Experience in child and adolescent care preferred. Experience in psychiatric environment preferred.
ON-CALL RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR (RESIDENTIAL SERVICES) - $12.96/HR:
Provide clinical treatment and management for Residential Services clients in need of services due to symptoms of mental illness, and to their families as necessary and appropriate. Coordinate and monitor all shift activities, including making staff and program assignments and implementing treatment plans per guidelines set by clinical management. Assume major clinical responsibility for assigned clients. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience, Associate's degree in social sciences or related field and one year experience working with the chronically mentally ill population preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Residential experience preferred. Ability to gain licensure as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (or other applicable counselor profession) in Washington State, valid Washington State Driver License required and Food Handler card.
Foster Parents Needed!
CONTRACTED TREATMENT FOSTER PARENTS – Reimbursement up to $1,680 per month:
Provide in–home care to children in the foster care program, and to assist the Intensive Children’s Services staff in meeting the treatment needs of the child. Foster Parents receive extensive introductory and continued training to ensure they are prepared for their challenging work.
Position Requirements:
· Have the time and desire to make a difference in a child’s life
· Be over the age of 21 and in good health to care for a child
· Have sufficient income to support your family without the addition of foster care payments
· Be able to complete an FBI and state background clearance
· Be a homeowner or renter whose residence is deemed safe by the licensor

Volunteer Crisis Line Phone Worker Needed!
Crisis Workers provide information and referral, problem solving, crisis intervention, and a listening ear for people in the community who are experiencing situational distress. We ask for a one-year commitment of one 4-hour shift per week and one overnight shift per month. Quarterly trainings includes 36 hours of crisis intervention instruction, covering a wide range of topics including listening/empathy skills, mental health, domestic violence, self-harm, grief, suicide, and community resources.
Requirements:
· Potential candidates must be 18 years of age or older (or within 6 months of turning 18 years of age to attend the training).
· Potential candidates cannot be current clients of Kitsap Mental Health.
· Potential candidates must fill out an application and meet with the supervisor for an informal “meet & greet” interview.
· Potential candidates must complete training with the supervisor.
