Program Assistant - International Data - Green River Community College

Position Summary:

The International Programs & Extended Learning office at Green River College serves approximately 1700 international students from more than 50 different countries.  The majority of these students are enrolled in academic classes with the intent to transfer and pursue four-year degrees.  

The Program Assistant - International Data 
helps maintain the marketing and operations support data used by the International Programs & Extended Learning department.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily data flow routines between IPEL departmental databases.  Trouble-shoot any issues and report to Data Manager
  • Execute quarterly SEVIS batch registration
  • Monitor students who drop below 12 credits during the quarter; notify student and advisor and assist with other SEVIS status monitoring procedures
  • Act as DSO with U.S. Immigrations to assist with SEVIS reporting, data entry
  • Monitor SEVIS Alert lists, research details and notify advisors, marketers and students as appropriate.
  • Assist with gathering required data for SEVIS recertification.
  • Assist marketing by adding newly approved agencies to ISMS and linking them to Salesforce
  • Support IP Subject Matter Expert for ctcLink project with monitoring and implementing necessary changes and training of staff
  • Assist with notification of incoming and current students of changes implemented as a result of ctcLink (SID change, single name format change)
  • Create written procedures for ctcLink implementation and other processes as directed 
  • Monitor online orientation registration activity and run reports for International Activities Manager
  • Update Performance Indices reports and other reports as requested
  • Assist with printing and assembling of orientation name tags and file labels
Qualifications:
Minimum:

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and strategically with all levels of professional, technical and administrative staff in a team effort
  • Ability to independently prioritize and multi-task numerous projects with demonstrated time management proficiency skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaborate and work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with and provide service to individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with the main marketing databases used by International Programs& Extended Learning: MS Access, Salesforce CRM, and SEVIS (Student/Exchange Visitor Information System)
  • Familiarity with higher education environment
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment

Americorps Position Available - SEA and Edmonds Community College

Position Description: This position is shared between Edmonds Community College and the non-profit Service, Education and Adventure (SEA) - the position responsibilities include:


At Edmonds Community College, the member will:
  • Service learning projects focusing on STEM (Science, Tech., Engineering, and Math) courses, and environmental restoration projects. 
  • Serve as an advisor to our Green Team Student Sustainability Program to provide general leadership support and collaborate with our STEM programs for service projects and student mentoring. 
  • Develop and support alternative break programs that will include environmental restoration and student engagement. 

With SEA, the member will:
  • Engage with K-12 students at South Whidbey State Park in environmental learning programs and projects, as well as in a range of school and community based locations on Whidbey Island.
  • Engage in outdoor learning activities with students to increase environmental awareness and engagement. 
  • Support local food growing projects with to increase understanding of local food systems. 
  • Lead State Park restoration projects with students and community members. 
  • Educate K-12 students about the impacts of micro-plastics on local waters and other marine focused programs 
  • Engage in other environmentally focused K-12 school presentations and projects.

Term of Service:  September 1, 2015 through July 15, 2016


Age Range:  Minimum 18 - maximum age - 25.

Desired Education Level: Preference for College Graduate

Stipend:  Approximately $1,000.00 per month

Educational Award:  Approximately $5,000 at end of term of service (can be used for payment of student loans, payment for college courses, etc...)

Time:  the member will serve 40 hours per week and those hours will be discussed at the time of the interview.
