Legislative Support Services

LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT SERVICES
INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF:
JOB TITLE: Facilities Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director, LSS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Office of Legislative Support Services (LSS) provides a variety of services for all Legislative agencies, including addressing facility-related issues on the Legislative campus. The Facilities Coordinator acts as the primary interface between the Legislative agencies and the Department of Enterprise Services regarding all facility maintenance and Capitol Campus development matters. This position also: Serves as the project manager for Legislative agency-driven construction, installation and start-up of new facilities and systems, and; Supervise a Facilities Specialist who assists in the delivery of exceptional customer service.
TYPICAL WORK:
 Represent and advocate successful outcomes regarding all facility-related issues or concerns for Legislative agencies with their respective landlords, lessors or property owners.
 Provide consultative services for the development of plans, reports, and studies, and makes recommendations in support of Legislative facility needs.
 Assists legislative committees and administrations with the development of criteria for a comprehensive capital construction program supporting the Capitol group of legislative buildings.
 Reviews and advises Legislative agencies on all tenant lease, rental and inter-agency agreements.
 Serves as project manager for construction/installation and start-up of new facilities and systems; provides necessary coordination with other state agencies, local jurisdictions and stakeholder groups. Also monitors and controls the efforts of professional consulting firms retained by the legislature for various projects.
 Prepares Requests for Proposal (RFP's) that serve to define, negotiate and procure services or materials as needed by the Legislative tenants. Also prepares analysis and summary of responses by vendors/service providers and makes recommendations for award.
 Administer contracts from vendors and review/authorize payment requests.
 Compile and manage historical and current facility records. Maintains information to assure facility zoning compliance. Measure performance levels of the various building systems, and monitor effective, efficient and economical building utilization.
 Participates in the planning and implementation of relevant security systems and emergency procedures.
 Communicate with Legislative stakeholders regarding facility-related developments.
 Develop and implement innovative programs, processes and producers that reduce short and long term operating costs and increase productivity.
 Ensure that all of the services provided excel in performance standards and meet all customer expectations.
 Delivery of exceptional customer service
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Three (3) years in a position with supervisory experience.
 Four (4) years of experience in facilities management, facilities planning, or facilities project management.
 Knowledge of the legislature, legislative history, and legislative operations, desired.
 Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with customers, employees, and public and private agencies.
 Understanding and experience working with rental, lease and inter-agency agreements.
 Understanding and experience in managing or oversight of capital budget facility construction projects.
 Knowledge of State Public Works Laws and other regulations concerning building construction, leasing and use of facilities; state and local building and zoning codes and regulations.
 Ability to estimate work hours and material needed for minor building alterations or modifications up to $25,000.
 Ability to read blueprints and make material and work hour estimates based on drawings, designs, or contract documents.
 Communicate technical information both orally and in writing with both technical/trades and nontechnical personnel; relate well with both customers and facility organization personnel.
 Ability to multitask and work without direct supervision.
 Superior client/customer relationship management skills.
 Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Additional qualifying experience over five years may be substituted, year for year, for the education listed below.
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor’s degree involving major study in architecture, business administration, property or land management, engineering, or an allied field (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year-for-year for education).
COMPENSATION:
The starting salary range is $60,444 - $75,480 annually, depending on the successful applicant's education and experience. Emerald Queen Hotel & Casino

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

CASINO POSITIONS:

* Restaurant Shift Manager: Minimum two years management experience in a high volume restaurant environment. Must have extensive knowledge in all aspects of front and back of the house operations. Good verbal and written communication skills are required with knowledge of computers and POS systems. Must be able to demonstrate superior guest service skills, have good manual and finger dexterity for computer operation, with the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Must have a valid food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Table Games Dealer: Prior casino dealing experience required. Must be able to stand for extended lengths of time, have good math skills, and be able to follow detailed instructions. Good manual and finger dexterity required. Must deal at least two of the three major games (blackjack, roulette, and craps). Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Human Resources Representative: Bachelor's degree is preferred; Associates degree in business or related field is required. Must have a minimum of two years clerical/administrative experience in similar organization with good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent phone etiquette with general front desk skills is essential with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must be familiar with an HRIS program preferably Ultipro. Human Resources experience is required. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Lead Cage Cashier: One year cash handling experience required including check cashing. Some supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have good manual and finger dexterity, the ability to bend, reach, squat and lift at least 25 pounds. Must have mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Ten-key experience preferred. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Cage Cashier I: Minimum one year cash handling experience is required. One year of cashing checks with previous casino or banking experience is preferred. Previous work experience operating a 10 key calculator, cash drawer and cage scanning equipment is desired. Basic math skills are required. Must be able to pass a cage cashier test. Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Income Auditor Level I: Two year degree in accounting, math or completion of a business, vocational, or technical college in accounting, bookkeeping, business or related field is required. Additional related education or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Valet Attendant: Previous valet parking attendant experience preferred. Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License, good driving record with current driving abstract, and the ability to be insured and bonded. Must be friendly and courteous, and be able to provide high level of guest service. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* POS Attendant: Must have one year of cash handling experience and be able to learn and know the rules and procedures of the Tribal Lottery Department. Must possess strong guest relation skills. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Dual Rate Runner/POS Attendant: Must have one year of cash handling experience and be able to learn and know the rules and procedures of the Tribal Lottery Department. Must possess strong guest relation skills. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Tribal Lottery Runner: Performs runner’s duties according to department policies and procedures. Must have one year of cash handling experience, good math skills and have good manual and finger dexterity. Must be able to follow direction and implement tasks given and be able to stand for longer than 8 hours. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Housekeeper: One year hotel guestroom cleaning experience required. Knowledge of using cleaning solutions and floor machines required. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have the ability to lift 25 pounds and the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Part Time Showroom Usher: Must possess excellent guest service skills. Must have the ability to stand and sit for extended lengths of time and be able to read ticket information in a dimly lit area. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

FOOD & BEVERAGE POSITIONS:

RESTAURANT:

* Food Server (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Minimum two years high volume fine dining or casual dining food service experience is required. Must have good grooming habits and manners with ability to provide excellent guest service. Must be able to follow specific instructions and have a valid food handler’s card. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Lead Deli Attendant: Minimum two years counter service experience with previous food handling required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must be able to monitor the quality of products and services provided by the deli staff while ensuring compliance with departmental standards and requirements. Cash handling experience including credit card transactions is required. Must have a valid food handler’s card. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have the mobility to climb stairs on a regular basis and be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.
* Hostess/Cashier (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Six months restaurant experience required. Greets guests, finds suitable table for number of guests and acts as cashier. Must be able to make correct change and calculate daily receipts. Must have valid food handler’s card and good manual and finger dexterity for operation of computerized sales register. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours and have the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Deli Attendant (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Minimum one year counter service required. Cash handling, credit transactions, and food handling required with th e ability to stand longer than 8 hours and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Must have valid food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Busser (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Restaurant experience preferred. Must be able to follow specific instructions and have good guest service skills. Must have a valid Washington State food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

KITCHEN:

* F&B Driver: Must have a valid Washington State Drivers License and a good driving record with the ability to provide a valid driving abstract. Six months driving experience is required with preferred restaurant and inventory experience. Experience with walking, standing, climbing stairs, and lifting items over 50 pounds is required with the ability to safely operate company vehicle. Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions. Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Lead Line Cook: Culinary training with at least three years experience in line cooking for a dinner house. Must have experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steaming. Experience in training of staff is preferred. Must be fast and capable of working on as many as 30 orders at a time with the ability to coordinate cooking times with co-workers. Must have valid food handler’s card and be able to stand for longer than 8 hours. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Banquet/Buffet Cook: Culinary training and two years experience in line cooking for a dinner house required. Experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing and steaming. Must be fast and capable of working on different functions at one time and be able to coordinate cooking times with co-workers and have a valid food handler’s card. Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Employee Dining Cook: Culinary training and two years experience in line cooking for a dinner house required. Breakfast, lunch and dinner cooking for the Employee Break Room. Experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steaming. Must have experience prepping red meat, fish, shellfish, poultry and pastas. Must be able to coordinate cooking times with co-workers. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours, have the ability to lift 40 pounds, the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis and have a valid food handler’s card. Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Line Cook: Culinary training with at least two years experience line cooking for a dinner house is required. Must have experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steaming. Must be fast and capable of working on as many as 30 orders at a time with the ability to coordinate cooking times with co-workers. Must have valid food handler’s card and be able to stand for longer than 8 hours. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Extra Board Fry Cook (On-Call): Culinary training preferred and/or at least two years experience in line, prep or pantry cooking. Experience in grilling, broiling and sautéing. Preps red meat and pastas. Must be fast and capable of working on as many as 30 orders at a time. Must be able to coordinate cooking times with co-workers, have knowledge of food decoration and food temperatures, and be able to prepare food quickly and efficiently while maintaining good personal health standards. Must have valid food handler’s card and be able to stand for longer than 8 hours. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Steward: One year experience working in a high volume full service restaurant is required. Must be able to handle receiving food, supplies and materials for the kitchen and take a daily inventory. Valid Washington State food handler’s card is required with knowledge of proper food storage procedures. Must be able to stand longer than 8 hours, have the ability to lift 40 pounds and the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position.

* Prep Cook: Must possess basic culinary knowledge, be able to follow directions and have the desire to advance into a skilled cooking position. Must have valid food handler’s card and the ability to stand for longer than 8 hours and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Dishwasher: Prior kitchen experience preferred. Able to work quickly and efficiently. Willing to learn how to operate and maintain an automatic dishwasher. Willing to learn sanitation policies and procedures. Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and have a valid food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

BAR:

* Bartender (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Bartending School recommended. Experience may substitute for schooling. One year experience bartending. Must know all cocktails, beers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Good communication skills required. Must have valid food handler’s card. Must be neat, clean and professional and able to work well with customers and coworkers and have the ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Beverage Server (Full Time & Extra Board On-Call): Bartending School helpful. Six months experience cocktail serving required. Must be able to stand and walk for extended lengths of time. Ability to work with POS systems. Ability to work well with guests and co-workers and have good communication skills. Must have valid food handler’s card. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Lead Barback: Bartending School preferred. Six months experience as a Barback is required. Assists Bartender with stocking, mixing beverages, pouring beer, and general cleaning. Efficient and healthy work habits. Must be able to work with the public. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours and able to lift 40 pounds. Must have valid food handler’s card. Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Extra Board Barback (On-Call): Bartender with stocking, mixing beverages, pouring beer, and general cleaning. Efficient and healthy work habits. Must be able to work with the public. Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours

SECURITY:

* Security Officer Parking Lot Observer: Minimum one year of security experience is required. Previous experience utilizing CCTV or DVR for surveillance purposes is preferred. Must be able to effectively communicate with others and have good guest relation skills. Must have the physical capabilities to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs on a routine basis and have good manual and finger dexterity. Valid driving abstract is required Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and be able to maintain a high level of concentration. Be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Security Officer (Full Time & Part Time): Prior security experience required. Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and provide a recent copy of Department Motor Vehicles driving abstract. Able to learn and follow detailed security manual procedures. Excellent communication and guest service skills. Must have ability to stand longer than 8 hours and the mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis. Basic report-writing skills required. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

* Security Officer Level II: Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License and provide a recent copy of Department Motor Vehicles driving abstract. Must have excellent driving record and be able to be insured and bonded. Excellent communication and guest service skills is required. Must be able to learn and follow detailed security manual procedures and possess basic report writing skills. Must be able to lift 75 pounds and the physical capabilities to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment.

FACILITIES:

INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF:
JOB TITLE: Facilities Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director, LSS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Office of Legislative Support Services (LSS) provides a variety of services for all Legislative agencies, including addressing facility-related issues on the Legislative campus. The Facilities Coordinator acts as the primary interface between the Legislative agencies and the Department of Enterprise Services regarding all facility maintenance and Capitol Campus development matters. This position also: Serves as the project manager for Legislative agency-driven construction, installation and start-up of new facilities and systems, and; Supervise a Facilities Specialist who assists in the delivery of exceptional customer service.
TYPICAL WORK:
 Represent and advocate successful outcomes regarding all facility-related issues or concerns for Legislative agencies with their respective landlords, lessors or property owners.
 Provide consultative services for the development of plans, reports, and studies, and makes recommendations in support of Legislative facility needs.
 Assists legislative committees and administrations with the development of criteria for a comprehensive capital construction program supporting the Capitol group of legislative buildings.
 Reviews and advises Legislative agencies on all tenant lease, rental and inter-agency agreements.
 Serves as project manager for construction/installation and start-up of new facilities and systems; provides necessary coordination with other state agencies, local jurisdictions and stakeholder groups. Also monitors and controls the efforts of professional consulting firms retained by the legislature for various projects.
 Prepares Requests for Proposal (RFP's) that serve to define, negotiate and procure services or materials as needed by the Legislative tenants. Also prepares analysis and summary of responses by vendors/service providers and makes recommendations for award.
 Administer contracts from vendors and review/authorize payment requests.
 Compile and manage historical and current facility records. Maintains information to assure facility zoning compliance. Measure performance levels of the various building systems, and monitor effective, efficient and economical building utilization.
 Participates in the planning and implementation of relevant security systems and emergency procedures.
 Communicate with Legislative stakeholders regarding facility-related developments.
 Develop and implement innovative programs, processes and producers that reduce short and long term operating costs and increase productivity.
 Ensure that all of the services provided excel in performance standards and meet all customer expectations.
 Delivery of exceptional customer service
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Three (3) years in a position with supervisory experience.
 Four (4) years of experience in facilities management, facilities planning, or facilities project management.
 Knowledge of the legislature, legislative history, and legislative operations, desired.
 Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with customers, employees, and public and private agencies.
 Understanding and experience working with rental, lease and inter-agency agreements.
 Understanding and experience in managing or oversight of capital budget facility construction projects.
 Knowledge of State Public Works Laws and other regulations concerning building construction, leasing and use of facilities; state and local building and zoning codes and regulations.
 Ability to estimate work hours and material needed for minor building alterations or modifications up to $25,000.
 Ability to read blueprints and make material and work hour estimates based on drawings, designs, or contract documents.
 Communicate technical information both orally and in writing with both technical/trades and nontechnical personnel; relate well with both customers and facility organization personnel.
 Ability to multitask and work without direct supervision.
 Superior client/customer relationship management skills.
 Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Additional qualifying experience over five years may be substituted, year for year, for the education listed below.
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor’s degree involving major study in architecture, business administration, property or land management, engineering, or an allied field (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year-for-year for education).
COMPENSATION:
The starting salary range is $60,444 - $75,480 annually, depending on the successful applicant's education and experience.
